Just okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unless there's an enhancement I'm unaware of, the picture is just okay. And the salesman didn't point out the importance of an additional purchase - a soundbar. It's really a two-star without one.

Posted .Thank you for your feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you saw in the store. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark.

It's okay....for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup is a bit annoying. The phablet it comes with is pointless if you have a smart phone. (Go with Hisense for a better experience in a similar or less price range)

I returned it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up returning this tv in favor of a Samsung smart tv. I couldn't get over the fact that the tablet remote would not stream in 4K for me. I loved that it was a Google play tv. And loved the tablet remote it was amazing. It's a beautiful tv looks amazing and designed fantastically.

"Geek Squad Certified": LOL
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hi there Best Buy, if you boast of "Geek Squad Certification", maybe train them to check for a complete product including accessories? What a joke to receive a TV without stand, power cord and HDMI cable. Sad.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback. Every TV can look a little different out of the box, as certain settings may need to be adjusted. If you're seeing a noticeable difference between these two models, we would recommend adjusting picture settings such as brightness, contrast, color and more.

Arrived broken, twice in a row
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd like to give more details around this product, however after receiving the item with a cracked screen, waiting 6 days after the shipment was delayed. I wasn't able to view the picture quality. I decided to try again, so I had BestBuy send me a new TV, and received yet another TV that had a cracked screen. I'm not sure if I just have unbelievable bad luck, or if it's the brand.. but from now on i'll stick with Samsung, and purchase online via store pickup. What a headache this experience has been!

Vizio made a massive mistake
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the quality of the Vizio TV and had a previous version. Now however, they have moved to googlecast which is extremely difficult to navigate and very inconvenient. You need 3 remote controls (on/off remote, cable and an online device like iPad, phone, ect.) Plus, they have eliminated your ability to access Amazon. Extremely disappointed!

Perfect for Moms
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The author of this review received a sample unit from the manufacturer for the purpose of reviewing the unit. However all opinions are my own. With having kids in the house I want a nice tv, that has the bells and whistles but with out a crazy price tag because we all know with kids in the house someone could totally ruin it. This Vizio TV is perfect! It has everything I would want in a tv and all the bells and whistles (like Netflix easily accessed) with out a price tag that would make me cry if something accidentally happened to it from the kids. As a work at home mom of 4 I need to have "me time" at some point during my day, which if you are a mom you know moms can hardly ever have time to just sit down and watch a show, with the VIZIO - 50" Class (49.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Chromecast Built-in - 4K Ultra HD Home Theater Display with High Dynamic Range I can watch my Netflix shows while getting my stuff done! Thanks to the awesome tablet remote I can watch my shows as I go around the house getting my stuff done. Then when I can actually sit down to watch a show I can cast it from the tablet remote to the tv! I also love how easy set up was, easy to follow directions and set up with in minutes! I am good with setting up tech things but not a whiz at is so I liked that set up was easy and there wasn't any help needed from the husband other than him lifting the TV on to the top of my dresser for me. Over all I love this TV, for me its not about the specs its about how useful it is and if it has a great picture and great sound and this one does! After reviewing this one we have already decided that when the one in the kids playroom goes (because its already acting up) that we will be replacing it with a Vizio!

Everything you want in a home theater display!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A VIZIO sample was provided for free in exchange for the review. All opinions and home theater obsessions are 100% mine. You really should see it in person to fully appreciate the awesomeness of this display. I’ve been looking to add a SMART device to my home theater for quite a while now but it always seemed like I couldn’t have everything I wanted. For example, I was looking at some and they were 4K but not SMART. Even if the other versions I was checking out did have everything, then the price became prohibitive. With VIZIO you get everything you want at a price that makes your budget happy too! You should be aware though, if you use an external antenna to watch free local channels, you will need to get a separate tuner adapter to connect your antenna to your display. If you have cable or stream services like me, you should be all set! I don’t know about you but whenever I get a new device, there’s sort of a learning curve. I was super surprised with this tablet remote. From the first time I used it, it was easy peasy to navigate. Finally, a remote that I can really love. Here’s a bonus too: you can just use the Tablet Remote to play your favorite games and or other apps without even using the display.

Good value for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vizio sent me this home theater display so that I can review it. Note that it's a home theater display and not a TV because it does not have a TV tuner. Not a negative for those who will connect a cable box, a gaming console or BluRay/DVD player anyway. If you need a TV tuner, you'll need to get one separately. I loved that it has an Android tablet as a remote aside from the regular remote. You can also use your phone as a remote; just download the VIZIO app. Setup is easy. It turned on as soon as we plugged it in. Then it asked for the tablet remote to be paired, after which it started downloading updates for the display. After the update was done, we just had to choose the source, and we were ready to start watching. Picture quality is good and isn't grainy. I think it handles scaling pretty well. Quality is still good when playing regular DVDs and BluRays. The VIZIO M50-D1 SmartCast Home Theater Display definitely gives you good value for your money. You get a big screen with good picture quality, a regular remote, a tablet remote, and Chromecast built in. And that's all for a pretty affordable price of $849.99. Some retailers offer it for a lower price depending on current promotions.

I bought this tv nervous
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well I found this tv on Best Buy hoping it would be on sale in store regular price 650$ with tax came to about 708$ I originally bought this for my Xbox One S not many reviews on it paired with a gaming system but the screen blinked black for awhile but I soon found out I setup tv and Xbox backwards if your going to be gaming in hdr 4k on this tv you must use HDMI 1 and go to your setting first on the remote tablet that came with the tv put sampling HDMI Port 1 then go to Xbox one then set to HDR 4k I hope this helps if your having trouble a little more on the tv itself it starts out dark must change picture mode to vivid I recommend is best picture settings The Tablet takes awhile to update cause there's so many apps not honestly needed taking up space I also recommend deleting them to make space for apps you actually want the tv itself was really easy to setup comes with two remotes a Tablet that controls most of the setting the regular remote only controlle volume and pic settings and tv input reminder this tv is not a 10bit true tv well my Xbox says but all in all the tv can game in hdr 4k looks great after setting everything up well worth the money

Excellent Home Theater Solution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclosure: I received a VIZIO M50-D1 SmartCast Home Theater Display from VIZIO for free, however the opinions expressed are my own. To say that I’m pleased with the unit would be an understatement. The M-Series is not only incredibly easy to set up, but also features a large variety of fantastic features. The tv itself required little in terms of physical set-up; just screwing in the included legs. Despite the size of the set, it surprisingly weighs approximately 31 pounds. Setting up the television was a bit more involved. The power cord could be longer and the inputs could be spaced a little better. The set also ships with a small Android tablet (complete with a wireless Qi charging stand) that can be used as a remote/casting device. Once signed into my Google account, the set updated the firmware on the set. You can also use a very basic remote that’s included or your phone to control the tv. To be honest, I haven’t used the tablet much at all; utilizing the basic remote for much of the basic functions. The tablet is pretty handy for using the second screen experience that’s becoming more popular with certain television series. One of the few disappointments is setting up several of the apps required for streaming (which is what the tablet’s primary use is for). Amazon Prime streaming, for instance, isn’t even an option as a native app, but fans of Google’s Chromecast will be happy to see that it’s platform is built into the M50-D21 unit where it can cast hundreds of options (including Amazon Video easily). I purchased an Amazon Fire stick and have found that it’s the perfect addition to use the majority of my streaming programming (Amazon, Netflix, HBO Go, Vudu) and works flawlessly with the M50-D1. The back of the set includes four HDMI ports (mine are loaded with the cable box, Blu-ray player, Fire stick and have one empty one which could easily be used for a gaming console). Unfortunately, if you plan to use an external antenna to watch local over-the-air broadcast TV, a TV tuner is required The picture quality is where the set truly shines. The resolution is 4K Ultra HD – 3840×2160 which means you get a lot of detail on the screen. The picture quality is outstanding. The HDR technology expands the contrast and color range of the pixels on the display for a sharp, crisp picture and deep blacks. The set features a full array LED backlight with up to 64 Active LED Zones that automatically adjust light levels. There are several pre-set display options and the tablet allows more detailed and advanced controls allowing you to set the image exactly to your taste. The biggest disappointment in the set is the sound quality. The volume is often hollow and has an overall lack of dynamic range. A sound bar is my next purchase which I think will push this set to the next level. Overall, the Vizio M-Series offers an impressive unit at an excellent price (most big box retailers are have the set in the $600 range) and is an fantastic choice for the centerpiece of your own home theater. A better inclusion of documentation might help (as solutions to the dimness might very well be very basic), but that’s a minor quibble compared to this otherwise superior display.

Amazing Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was quick and simple. The six picture mode presets are great for getting the right picture without spending a ton of time adjusting settings, but of course you can adjust as you like also. The audio is not bad, but I added a sound bar for a richer sound experience. Lots of input/output options. Having Chromecast built in is magical. I love not having to rely on preinstalled streaming apps that don't get updated properly or stop being supported, and I love not having to plug in extra devices to stream content. Even better, I cast from my desktop, which is a feature I'm using more often than I expected. The tablet remote is easy to use and has a lot of functionality, but it doesn't come with enough storage space. After a few rounds of app updates, I got a message that I was out of space. I removed some games that came preinstalled, and that freed up enough space to let me do another round of app updates, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to install much else.
