Seemed promising

I reviewed this tv and others like it, and though it was a newer model it had good ratings. It worked well and paired with my iPhone the first time using it. That was it. After that it didn't want to work. I tried troubleshooting several times and even had a Vizio technician come check out the problem. He suggested I return the TV, which I did. Hopefully this doesn't happen to more consumers. But this is how chromecast ruined my experience with this TV.

It is too late for me to return it unfortunately. If you want to watch Hulu or Netflix, ect., you have to have a smart phone to "cast" it from phone to tv. I would rather use a remote.

Posted .Thank you for your feedback. To better serve users who prefer a more traditional app experience, SmartCast TV is now starting to roll out to our 2017 SmartCast models. SmartCast TV makes apps accessible directly from the display. This update will download automatically to your display if it’s connected to the internet and let you know with an onscreen message when it’s downloaded. Once the update has been downloaded simply press the ‘Input’ button on your VIZIO remote control, and choose the input labeled ‘SmartCast’.

This is OK if you are the only user but not useful in a family room situation with kids

Tv sucks

It tries to look for updates in the middle of the night so the tv turns on for a second, then immediately turns off and it repeats itself throughout the night unless you unplug the power cord.

Stay away

Dead pixel

Also, I wasn't a fan of the controller and interface. I'll wait for a more expensive tv to drop in price than to buy something like this again.

Freezes and restarts constantly

Of course its after the 15day return policy and best buy wont replace without paying an extra $99 for geek squad to come see the problem. Wouldnt recommend spending $400 on it. Or shopping best buy with their terrible support. Target gives 90days for returns and exchanges.

waste of money

It doesn't even come with a decent remote, so if you do not have a smart phone you really can't even change settings. As for functionality, there is no tuner and the USB port supplies power but no connectivity. There is no built in media player and while it has a lot of connection ports it really is over priced for just a computer monitor. Other known name brands offer far more for less money.

Not really a smart TV
