Bargin 50" HD TV

Posted .Thank you for the feedback. This display does have several HDMI inputs that can be used to get an HD signal from a cable/satellite set top box. If you're using an over the air antenna that only has a coaxial connection, you can purchase any external tuner with an HDMI or component output (like the one linked below).

Posted .Thank you for your feedback. We do include a basic remote with this unit that can control features such as powering the unit on/off, adjusting volume, and input selection. Your cable or satellite remote should also still control all functions of your cable or satellite service such as changing the channel. The use of a smartphone is only required if casting apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Vudu and more.

Not good for general use

Posted .Thanks for the input. While this display does not have a tuner it does come equipped with 4 HDMI ports. We would recommend seeing if your connected devices such as cable & satellite set top boxes, gaming devices, Blu Ray players and so on can be connected via HDMI. If you need to connect something through coax such as an OTA (Over the air) antenna then you'd simply need an external tuner that can be connected via HDMI. Typical Visio

Half the picture is gone and Visio told me that’s the breaks... they talked me through a couple steps over the phone and gave up. Not a happy camper.

Didn't work

It was a new product, but maybe I just got a defective one. In the end I bought the 55" model and it worked phenomenally. I would avoid the 50" e-series model in favor of the 55".

Not a TV

Not a Chromecast fan

After a week of trying to get this to work with an iPad or iPhone, we returned it. It was not worth the time and energy invested. Purchased a Samsung instead and I am very happy.

Great Buy

The TV overall is decent and picture quality isn't too bad either. Setup was easy but did take quite a bit of time. The remote is very basic so you have to use a bit of intuition to figure out some of the symbols. The chromecast feature actually comes in handy at times and is easy to use once you get it set up. Sound is okay...sometimes it depends on what I'm watching. I haven't had a chance to see the full benefit of the 4K, but since this is in my bedroom, it's not a big deal. This is definitely not my usual Samsung, but the price was too good to pass up. The only downside is the lack of a cable connection. I am a cord cutter and this would have been an issue but luckily I have a Tablo connected to my modem so I don't need to have my antenna plugged directly into the TV. For other cord cutters who don't have this set up, this TV is NOT for you.

picture and sound problem
