Great PQ, smoking value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a bedroom TV... previously purchased a vizio P series for living room and the thing has been rock solid for years. This m tv has similar PQ for a great price.I looked at Samsung (mediocre PQ and expensive), LG (poor pq and goofy sw), and TCL (total piece of junk - make sure you get demo before you fall for the price). The vizio m PQ was the best and at a great price. Love smartcast system and looking forward to addition of ontv apps too. I think vizio m is a winner this model cycle... kudos vizio! love supporting an american company.

HDR, Dolby Vision, 4k, Oh my!... but,...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 2017 M Series from Vizio is great a TV for an incredible price. But buyer beware. Only 1 HDMI port, HDMI 1, actually supports the latest features the TV boasts. This severely limits the users ability to use the features of the TV like HDR and Dolby Vision. You will not get HDR or Dolby Vision if running HDMI 2-4. This is somewhat more unpleasant if you purchase the Vizio Soundbar bundle which requires HDMI 1 for ARC (Audio Return Channel), because then you lose the ability to add device (AppleTV, Roku, Chromecast, Game System) and use HDR or Dolby Vision at all. The vizio soundbar when run with HDMI ARC (best way) effectively eats up the only port on the TV that supports HDR and Dolby Vision. Why Vizio,..... Why!!!!? At least have two Ports on the TV that support the main selling points of this TV (HDR and Dolby Vision). Other notes, Chromecast is Amazing, Game Lag is poor.

Vizio has stepped up in performance quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought my vizio tv over a month ago. I usually take a month before I write a review on any product. I call it the break in period to honestly get a read on the product good or bad. I used to think of Vizio like RCA, Westinghouse and Element when it came to a quality manufacturer of tv's. I was looking to upgrade my tv in my bedroom and didn't want to spend over a thousand dollars for a bedroom tv but I still want my 4k hdr 120 hertz tv with a vertical panel. I knew that would be a difficult task. Then I saw Vizio was commimg out with a 2017 50 inch model. I went to vizio website and looked at the specs for this model for $599. At first I thought I was hallucinating and i called vizio several times to make sure I wasn't. I brought the tv on 6/10 and from the first time until know it's incredible that a tv for this price can be so good. I am a video and audiophile so I know what I am talking about. The smartcast features, supporting hdr 10 and Dolby Vision, Chromecast built in, 120 hertz which on this tv is really 60hertz but still it's good, and VA panel which is better than IPS panel and best of all full array local dimming with 32 zones for a 50 inch tv makes this a 5 star performer in my book. Great work Vizio keep it up and the word will get out and people will start viewing your product the same way the look at the big three(LG, Sony, Samsung). Bang for the buck your product is better it's just the perception of Vizio that has to change.

Great tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my secondary theater room and for the price it is an excellent tv. Deep colors and good blacks, high dynamic range is definitely a plus. Vizio makes a good product. Would buy again

Great TV for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We recently bought this TV and we love it! It was very easy to set up and program it to use the video apps. The quality of the picture is very good. The only thing we didn't like is that this TV doesn't have Bluetooth, as advertised.

Only one complaint
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV on 9/11/2017. Everything about it is great, the user interface for the smart tv portion, the design of the TV is sleek and clean. The picture quality is fantastic; I bought this to replace a 42" Samsung Plasma TV that was purchased around May of 2011. As mentioned, the picture quality is vastly better than the Samsung; Madden 18, Battlefield 1, etc. look fantastic on the screen (playing on an Xbox One). I'm looking forward to upgrade my Xbox as well to an S to unlock the full HDR capability. My ONLY gripe about this TV; the speakers are not great. Everything sounds very "tinny" and has a kind of metallic tone to it. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, but for now it's definitely a sore thumb. May consider purchasing a sound bar, but that's for another day.

Stunning TV for a great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Tv for the price, the hdr is amazing on my PlayStation Pro and the picture is great considering the price. My only complaint is it doesn't have a coax cable slot.

Great TV but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great TV that produces good image quality, but there is just one problem. It's only been a few days since I've purchased the TV and I'm already having issues with it connecting to my home wireless network. It started at losing and being able to reconnect it to now now being able to connect at all. I've contacted customer service and hopefully they can help. If this problem can't be fixed then it looks like I'm going to have to return it.

Horrible for 4k gaming...Good for everything else
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So ill start the review off with the good...for everything other than gaming (1080p fios box, 1080p apple tv, and streaming apps such as netflix) the TV performs very well especially for the streaming video apps. 4k dolby vision looks absolutely amazing...the cripsness and color spectrum are great...even though the set only regreshes at 60hz fast motion scenes look pretty good as well...the tv is great if all you want to do is watch shows from your cable box or streaming...where the set has me extremely disappointed is the performance in the 4k hdr department for devices connected via hdmi...besides the fact that this tv only has one hdmi input capable of handling hdr content the one hdmi input that is supposed to accept it displays 4k hdr in a juttered colorless mess. I have tested this input with high end hdmi cables on a ps4 pro and xbox one x. First for the framerate. There is soo much lag and judder when gaming in 4k hdr i have had to stop playing games on this input. It really takes you out of the experience. The next thing is the supposedly wide color gamit that hdr brings and this tv supposedly supports...when gaming in 4k hdr and watching movies at the same setting using the xbox one x, the tv cannot figure out how to display certain colors so it seemingly displays them as a bright white pixel. This on top of the lag and judder makes this input completely useless for 4k hdr material. I spoke to best buy today and unfortunately I am outside of the warranty period (purchased 11/2017) but am still within the one year manufacturers warranty from vizio. I will be getting in touch with them and would love to see them stand behind their product

Great picture, sub-par speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great tv with hdr for the price. Works great with my PS4 pro. Downside is the speakers. Has a weird echo high pitch. Had to buy a sound bar to be able to watch Tv. Still worth the price

After getting used to the SmartCast, 5/5
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV about a week ago. It has been great and definitely worth what I paid. The full hdr alone puts it above all the others in the same price range. I did a quick video review on my YouTube channel of my first impressions just look up my name! https://youtu.be/b8ki9JahynU

Stopped working after 6 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked for 6 years and then one day simply would not turn on. Tried the turn off and turn on; unplug and wait and then hit the power button on the tv to drain residual power; changed the batteries; even bought a new power cord. Nothing. TV should last for more than 6 years.

No TV tuner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm disappointed there is no TV tuner built in to this "display" (there's a reason they call it a display instead of a TV). With a cheap indoor HD TV antenna, I was able to get 24 channels on my old TV. To watch over the air TV with this display, I have to buy a separate TV tuner. This TV is great for streaming, cable or satellite, but if you're looking to cut the cable and watch TV for free, buy an actual television.

Lasted 4 days
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked fine, looked great............on the 4th day picture tried to duplicate itself halfway down the screen on every input, live, dvr and on pause. It's hard to explain, but it was surely unwatchable!!!It's getting returned and I'll spend the extra money on a Samsung. Also the speakers were pretty bad, very cheap sounding. Buyer beware!!

Underwhelming Longevity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were quite pleased with the product for the first couple years we had it--nice picture, good interactivity with peripherals. Now, for about a year, we've been experiencing a declining picture quality, with entire quadrants or smaller segments of the screen flickering and presenting much darker or shaded. It's very unfortunate the unit will need replacing only a few short years after purchase.
