I bought this TV almost exclusively for gaming and some Netflix viewing and I have it side by side 2 other TV's and the picture quality is noticeably of lesser quality compared to an older LG, 50 HDTV and a much older 50" Sony TV. I use the Vizio, and my son's use the other TV's and I would prefer either one over the Vizio I purchased.

It's not bad but I have seen better. It's hard to set up with dvd players

I will Never buy a Vizio tv again. Customer service sucked bad. On the tv receiver it would shut off randomly whenever and how many times it wanted to. Then at times stay on for 30 min -1hour. Vizio told me to take it to get fixed they knew the issue but wouldn’t take care of it. I got $17 from the class action for a $700 tv, not to mention sound going off and a few black lines at the top. Worst tv I’ve bought for the money. Lesson learned.

I have been wanting a larger tv for a while and I've researched quite a few including this one. Some said it was horrible and others raved about their Vizio tvs and how good they were. Well I stumbled upon this at my Best Buy for around $490 plus tax on an open box deal. Well I see why it was brought back. This tvs color was absolutely horrendous and the quality on 480p was worse than the first tv ever made. I spent and extra $200 on a Samsung and couldn't be more happy. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM VIZIO.

Had the 42 model before that was fantastic, upgraded to an Insignia 55" and was terribly disappointed with the picture, tried this 55" and now I'm back to being very happy. Do yourself a favor and get this set; between the picture, audio, and Smart features, what more could you ask for!

We have been disappointed with this television. We constantly have issues with streaming Netflix and Amazon... streaming in general. We get frequent error messages that are as a result of the television and not from our Internet or streaming device. I would not purchase this tv again.

Ok For the price...but no web browser capabilities

My sister convinced me to get rid of my old CRT set, so I bought the Vizio 55". Now I know what I've been missing! The picture is so crisp and clear that I can see the wrinkles on people's faces. I am in love!.. The one draw back, the feet are way too far apart. There is only an inch of extra space on either side. I am trying to think of a way of securing the legs to the tv console. I really don't want to put holes in my wall. Any suggestions would be helpful.

This is my first experience with a Vizio product, but my neighborh as had 2 Vizio tv's in his house for awhile, and has been pleased with both, so desided to give them a try. Been wanting a bigger tv, and wanted it to mount on my wall, so i got a RocketFish tilting wall mount, and this Tv, it looks really nice, picture is amazing, i didnt even have to change any settings, it looked great to me right out of the box!! Very easy to setup, and i would highly recommend it.

I had a 55" Samsung smart tv, the wife on it was horribly slow & the apps worked only half the time. This Vizio is just awesome...fast wifi, great working apps, & nice sound! My only complaint is the TV legs are at the end of each corner, I prefer a stand in the middle, but I can live with it due to the low cost of the set and it's awesome smart tv operation.

I bought this TV online after visiting the store, didn't like sales associates trying to get me to purchase higher priced Samsung, then went to store within hour, and TV was put in my car, very quick, easy process! Highly recommend the online purchase path after you've done your caparison shopping! Order online, pay the bill, and go to the desk at the front door marked online order pick up. Simple, and quick! Set up TV at home took 10 mins. including taking it out of the box, screwing in 4 screws total for the 2 legs, hooking up the TV, and then turning on the TV. TV has several video presets making it easy to compare what you like. Very easy! Bought the 5 year Geek protection plan, $119. and they fix it in your house. Used Amex card which adds another year warranty, so I get 6 yrs. of warranty coverage for a total price of this TV including taxes of $765. makes me a happy camper. (TV $599. Warranty $119, + taxes)

Love the TV, can't stand the remote. TV is nice, great picture, nice input and output features, easy to use smart TV, but the remote is horrible. It eats batteries like there's no tomorrow. I honestly can't even use it. It goes through batteries every couple weeks.

The picture is very poor, grainy; refresh rate is the worst. Additionally, there is permanent line on the picture.

Well I did a lot of shopping around before making this purchase! I finally decided on the Vizio 55" for our living room. This is by far the best flat screen at a really affordable price! With some of the other TV's you are definitely paying a higher price just because of the name. The set-up was easy and was up and running in about 15 minutes from opening up the box. This Vizio doesn't disappoint, great picture quality and clarity. Also, easy to use controller that allows you to go to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, YouTube, etc. It also has 3 HDMI ports that allow you to hook up other devices. The only downside as mentioned in other reviews is the speakers. The sound is not the best. After a week of owning the tv I purchased a Vizio sound bar for $98 this helped tremendously. I highly recommend this tv!!

I only had the tv for a few days had to return it because it would not turn on

First vizio brand ever and not really happy with the picture quality.

To set the stage, this TV replaced a tube TV so take that for what it's worth. I bought a wall-mount separately and had no problems there. Set up was easy - connected to my wireless and amazon account. Picture is very good. I'm still playing with the settings and hope to optimize further. I've had it drop the wireless connection while streaming from Amazon Prime. I have the latest Airport base station and it's only about 25 feet away so I'm not sure what the issue is. I never had issues streaming wirelessly to my computer or iPad. I'll probably just run an ethernet cable and be done with it. Other than the wireless I'm happy and would but again.
