Good Picture Until Backlight Fails

For the first year and a half of ownership, the display was great and there were only minor annoyances. This includes issues such as the TV's open WiFi network interfering with our home WiFi reception and occasionally green bands when switching between HDMI inputs. Minor issues overall though that we eventually resolved. No, the reason for this poor review was the premature LED backlight failure. One LED strip on the right side of the display has completely failed. At lower brightness settings, the first bottom-right LED strips dimmed resulting in terrible picture quality. We have temporarily resolved this by increasing backlight brightness to full; these strips are currently displaying full brightness but we expect them to fail soon. To be fair, this TV has been run 6-12 hours per day since we bought it. However, it replaced a smaller Samsung display that is still working ~8 years from the date we purchased it (albeit with a minor grey spot where the overly warm controller is mounted). If I had known this TV would only last two years, I never would've bought it. Unfortunately, I think I'm done with the brand. I also have a Vizio theater speaker system purchased at the same time as this TV that randomly turns off when it wants to during content. I'm not impressed.

Just Terrible

Can't watch my sling tv as this model is NOT CAPABLE OF DOWNLOADING NEW APPS. Tried the built-in hulu app after starting a 30 day hulu trial...doesn't work properly with HULU either. Essentially if you intend to use this TV for app based purposes...don't buy!! I will be returning immediately as I would be required to stream all of my TV (via sling) through my phone. Even emailed Vizio to ask when a new update would be available so this TV could download more apps...response was "not anytime soon". Never will I buy a Vizio again.

Posted .Hello KB916, currently the built in applications can be found on the SmartCast input and are limited to those applications. We are continuously evaluating new applications for this input. However, this television has the ability to cast any of the thousands of Chromecast enabled applications from a mobile device to your television. The built in HULU application should work without issue, if you are having an issue please contact our customer support at 877-878-4946.

Piece of junk

It won't stay connected to the wi-fi and is constantly losing its connection when casting. Ive already had th GS come out and fix it once and not even a month later, it's already having the issue again. The sound is constantly going in and out. Will never purchase another vizio.

Tv wont turn on

It just stays on the Vizio logo and turns off and on on its own. I've tried general trouble shooting unplugging/holding power down. nothing super discouraging since I just purchased less than a month.

Lasted about a month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.No problems while it worked. TV lasted just over 4 weeks. Then shut off and quit working. Geek Squad will EVENTUALLY replace it approximately 7-30 days after I spoke with customer service in reference to my 2 year product replacement plan. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed that I spent $600, (replacement plan included+taxes) on a TV that worked just over a month and they're in no hurry to fix it. Screen went black one day and after unplugging it multiple times will only show Vizio Logo then shut off and try again.

Poor Picture and Sound Quality

The picture quality is worse than my old TV which wasn't that great either. I tried various calibrations with my FIOS subscription which did not ease my disdain for this product. Stay away from this one!.

Posted .Hello TV8buyer, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark.

Waste of Money

Sound goes out sporadically and although brightness is max, its too dull to see in living room with windows. TV is not that old, what garbage, need new tv now. Been like this for over a year just loving with it, last straw was guests commenting on the poor screen quality. Will never buy another Vizeo!

Don’t buy Vizio

It would randomly shut off or not display anything. While watching a show, the tv went black and then displayed bars of colors. Just bars, nothing else.

Always a new bug

The current firmware has had significant bugs breaking core functionality of the TV and its been there for a month now. They consistently FORCE software updates on your TV if its connected to the internet and usually break something.

Vizios are junk

They claim that it was damaged, which is not the case. Save your money and buy a Samsung. Should have done that on this TV.
