Got from store, damaged.

With fallout four and skyrim on Xbox one, it looked amazing. Right up until I switched to Netflix. On the black loading screen, I saw, what I thought was a dead pixel. On closer inspection, there is actually a chip in the screen in the lower left hand corner. Hopefully, their product replacement is as painless as buying was.

All streaming Low quality, Low price TV

So when someone of their stores closed, I bought this one on discounted price. So I should be happy to get this cheap but I feel that it was a mistake! I'll tell you my experience and I am surprised some people here have rated this highly. I have used Samsung and LG 4K TVs in the past and I understand this TV is 1/4 of their price. But my review is based on the fact that things do not work as the manufacture claims. The TV is all about streaming. You need to install Smartcast App and it can serve as a TV remote as well. The option to use remote control does exist, however app offers easy access for many things. The problem is that the app is not stable. I am not able to connect the App to the TV when I start the app. I have to restart it couple of times. My Internet speed is very high and I do have stable connection to the phone. Here are my other comments issues 1. The TV picture is not as good as other 4K TVs as I compare to Samsung and LG and Sony. These is significant difference. Is this because this is entry level 4K? The screen is highly reflective. 2. The picture settings defaults are horrible. For 'standard' and 'Calibrated' setting, the blacklight is 100%. You can change it but then it affects you contrast and brightness. I spent a lot of time tuning the picture and still I am not happy. 3. There are several streaming features that look so strong on paper but poorly implemented. For example, when I stream thru Youtube, TV just fail to identify it first time. After couple of times, it works. I use iOS app and it is so irritating to remove/restart the app to stream when the TV is suppose tobe streaming friendly. Even the in built Chromecast does not work smoothly at times. 4. Roku identified display as part of their setup. It says 30 FPS. Why does the TV box say 60 FPS? 5. Audio quality is not so good, but again I am willing to let go as this is a low budget TV. 6. The placement of HDMI ports in the back is unfriendly. There is no way to put an Roku or Fire Stick but there is a bump in few inches which prevents attaching all four HDMI wires. 7. The Roku picture for Youtube and some other channels is not looking good. I don't understand this. This may be a Roku compatibility issue with this TV? 8. The android box attached to this needs picture resizing. I am not sure why because on my other TVS, it resizes automatically. 9. There is no TV tuner but that is what you should know before buying it so it is acceptable. 10. There are small issues while navigation and other functionalities - the manufacture should have tuned the general user experience better e.g. The input button on remote is so fast, the input is chosen while I am changing it. The fonts are so small for the TV size. It is OK to go for this for tight budget but I recommend to look something else if you can spend some more on a better TV and better picture.

When contacted they say the only way to access the menu is with their app or by buying a different remote from them.

Worthless warranty service

The folks that are contracted by Visio in Houston have skipped appointments and visio has shipped my parts to a tech that according to him, not qualified to open the back of a television. I drove 100 miles to keep an appointment and tech 2 had his personal car that he uses for repair in the shop but never called me. The TV worked adequately for 3 months prior to it's failure. Order from a company that doesn't have techs that work out of their personal cars.

Extreme Lack of Built in features

I am extremely disappointed that streaming apps are no longer installed in the TV itself. The casting option is a plus but should not replace built in apps. Now to watch streaming apps, I need to have the app I want on my phone or tablet. The apps take up a lot of memory, I have to keep my device charged, I have to have a charger in the living room, guests and kids need to use MY phone/tablet, no privacy. I watch TV to get away from my phone/tablet. Worst decision ever.

When the picture was working, it was a noticeable improvement over the 1080p TV it replaced. The return process was fairly painless and I opted for a hisense 50 in TV that was the same price, but with hdr. The Hisense TV with HDR is blows away this vizio in every way including netflix and Xbox one (not the xbox one S)

Don’t waste money on vizio

The money you spent will go to trash, I know u going to say daaaah why don’t you buy extended warranty... well if you buying mid end tv with extended warranty it comes to be the same price as Sony or Samsung. I will buy those in a heartbeat but never putting vizio in my house again.

Connection and picture issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Within a week of purchasing this TV I have had to perform 2 factory resets and re-sync the TV with with Vizio app for the casting to work. I've tried running it on a 2.4G and 5G network, separately to avoid interference. Neither seems to keep a connection with my WiFi. Every time I use the TV I have to go through a full setup. Also had picture issues last night with slow refresh rate and digitizing of 1/4 to 1/2 of the screen. Looked like when you used to win a Solitaire game on Windows 95. I have a Vizio soundbar as well. After hooking the soundbar up to the TV it won't allow me to use any controls on the soundbar remote or physical controls on the soundbar itself. The Vizio app also does not function with the soundbar. Everything on the bar worked prior to connecting it to the TV. Bluetooth no longer works nor any other audio input. Called Vizio, they're shipping me out a new TV to replace the existing one. Now I have to call them because the TV may have fried something within the soundbar.

shockingly terrible picture

Digital pixilation, blurry words, choppy flow on a news ticker and as you move your viewing angle from center to either side , the further to the side you move the greyer, cloudier, lighter, fainter the picture becomes. BestBuy will be replacing this asap and hopefully it was just a faulty set I received. I'm really hoping that is the case as I'd love to edit this post with a totally different outcome / update as I do own other Vizio tv 's and absolutely love them.

Terrible

I purchased this tv and a whole month later exchanged it for a SONY and I am so glad that I did. The colors were nice but it was no where near as expected, I found myself having to adjust the picture many times. The smart cast was even worse kept dropping my network, to make a long story short you pay cheap, you get cheap. Do yourselves a favor and do purchase this brand or you will be sorry!!!!!

Just up and quit

That Zenith worked flawlessly from then until I decided to replace it with something more modern. I should have kept the Zenith. At least it worked. I bought the Vizio TV and even a Vizio sound system to go with it. The sound system quit working one day, around the 3 month after purchase date. Couldn't even turn it on anymore. The TV just crapped the bed today. Up and quit working. Little white light turns on to indicate it is working, but no picture or sound. Tried the power reset. No go. So, now I have two products that lasted less than two years from Vizio. Called Vizio about them, but it would cost me more to ship them and fix them than to pay to have them hauled away and replaced. Go figure. I don't know who gives these Vizio products such high ratings, because if you go to consumer reports, or BBB websites, they pretty much suck. I do not recommend anyone waste their money on a vizio product, unless you plan on replacing them within a year or so.

SmartCast Stinks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vizio's approach with the SmartCast family of products is to save money by using an app on your smartphone rather than giving you a remote to handle the "Smart" functions of the TV. Mine simply is not reliable. Every time that I turn the TV off it loses the Wi-fi connection so I have to reset it again if I want to use the "Smart" functions. Also if my phone goes into sleep mode it loses the ability to connect with Netflix (Or anything else that I am running). For example if my phone goes into sleep mode then I can no longer use the app on my phone to pause the Netflix broadcast. This is a major pain in the butt. In terms of the "Smart" applications, I have to give the entire Vizio family a rock solid "F." Go someplace else. Get something that works. Maybe Vizio will get the bugs out of it but I am still disappointed. It is not what I paid for when I was TV shopping.

Dead pixel

Screen is failing in less than 4 months

It can be fixed by unplugging the television, but from what I read this is a sign of a failing LED board which will eventually stop working altogether. I expected much more than this from Vizio, especially in such a short time.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought maybe it was my Dish Network box but it was not. I plugged in a different device into the same HDMI port that the dish box was plugged into and the screen stayed the same dim on the right side. So I guess back it goes, or in for repair which will probably take forever! I thought Vizio had a better products than this! Which is why I bought it. I guess that I will try another brand next time.

LCD Panel Gone Bad After < 1 month
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this TV less than a month, and when I turned it on today the right half of the screen is noticeably darker than the left. After looking online it appears that this means the LCD panel has failed and will require a replacement that I can only imagine is going to take weeks to complete. This is starting to feel like a waste of money now that I have to endure a bureaucratic headache just to get back the product I paid for.
