Mine has two USB ports but the spec list only 1 USB port. Bought the Vizio 36" 5.1 surround sound bar to go with it but having problems with the remote disconnecting. Otherwise, this display is so much better than our previous 5 y/o Sammy even my wife says she is impressed with the colors and clarity mostly in 1080p which is the max resolution our cable company has do far. Got a super deal on a refurbished Sammy BlueRay 4K DVD player to see the real 4K this display can deliver! WOW! Should say it all! My research said His one was a top rated display and I see no reason to disput those findings by many others. For the money, this one rivals those with $thousands price tags. Vizio is top tier!

It is a low price TV, but it has difficulty with darker scenes. My Sharp does much better and is not much more expensive. Would not buy again.

I don’t like the picture. My oldest Sony Vizio which about 6 years old has a much better picture! The only problem I had is that it was a 46” tv Vs a 55”. I am disappointed.

Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition signal. This means making sure that you're source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture setting that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room try Calibrated Dark. VIZIO

This tv died in less than 2.5 years. Unfortunately I didn’t not purchase the extended warranty so I’m out of $550. Oh well I don’t believe I’ll buy another Vizio product. The user interface is Vizio and I purchased an Apple TV because I didn’t like it. I wish I could have purchased a dumb tv that was reliable vs a smart TV that I rarely used the smart features on because of the interface.

I will never buy a Vizio TV again. It randomly turns off and then back on, drops its internet connection, and switches to a black screen whenever it feels like it. I used to love Vizio. Now, I will never buy one again. I only wish I kept the receipt :(

Loved the tv until it stopped working one and one-half years later. Of course, warranty is only one year. Called Vizio customer support and did the usual tests they suggest. Their diagnosis....tv doesn't work! Would never buy another Vizio. Went out and bought an LG.

Backlight and brightness are horrible. 4K content flickers, dark scenes have a halo effect around lighter portions. Gaming was dim, but there was evidence of blurring.

I did a ton of research on new 4K TVs before buying this Vizio M Series. I have to say this screen is absolutely stunning. When you consider the feature set, it stands up against the best tv's at more than double the price. I was considering the cheaper E series, but decided to go a little more and get the M Series. I am very, very impressed. The overall clarity of the pictures is far better than my old screen. The contrast is superb. It even connects nicely with my Sony surround sound and blue ray player, which I was definitely worried about before my purchase. No problem. I turn on my blue ray, and my TV and surround sound are all on and ready for me to watch a movie. Some people may say this is not a TV cause it doesn't have a tuner. I use an antenna. I already had a tuner box cause my old TV was made before the digital conversion. No big deal. A converter box is $50. The savings compared to other brands, it's worth it to not include the tuner. Oh and the SmartCast is really neat. I've only played with it a little, but content once streamed, let's you go about using your tablet while streaming to the TV. It's really great. The one thing I've always hated about my tablet is it would stop playing youtube or such if I didn't stay on youtube. Sometimes I just want the audio. I've got to hook up the Digital Audio out to my surround sound and test this more, but in my testing, it worked very well once all setup. This particular model is a bit hard to find in stores, they have it on display, but no stores near me had it. I opted for the free delivery and Best Buy was very good with the delivery service. They even let me reschedule for a day earlier with very short notice.

Don't listen to BestBuy Employees. Great TV

    Posted .

So I had originally purchased a TCL P series because the BestBuy employees insisted it was the better option. I owned an older 1080P vizio before and was extremely happy with it, but I figured I'd give the TCL a chance. Long story short: I wasn't very happy with the black levels.. it seemed like it had minor edge bleeding issues, almost like it was edge lit LED display, but it isn't. Not to mention that during fast motion scenes or sports, there's a weird blurr issue. So here I am wondering what these bestbuy employees gain from selling TCL's. But then again.. last time they tried to sell me an Insignia over a Samsung simply because it was a bigger TV, so that tells you how much they're looking after you. Anyway, I went with this VIZIO and right off the bat I noticed a huge improvement over black levels and no light leaks. No blurring during sports and even the HDR looked better during movies. The only advantage the TCL had was more built in apps, but I have no problem using my phone so Vizio wins me over again. So take my word for it, listen to your heart haha.

    Great Deal For 4k Tv

Bought this a week before black friday and best buy match the price. Registering tv was easy, control easy to use but dont like that buttons came pre installed with certain apps im never going to use. Immediately went to smartcast. Menu really easy to use but limited selection of apps you can use, was disappointed. Picture on this tv is amazing. Only thing i would say is that the tv picutre quality is bad with cable (spectrum). I had to change to Directv to see the best quality picture for tv. I mainly got this tv for gaming and was the right choice, no lag on the best display option. The sound on tv is really basic, i might have to get a soundbar. This tv is in my room and at times i have to crank up the volume to hear what they are saying.

Can't beat it for the price. I bought a Hisense first... it died the first day. Decided to upgrade and this was the next closest model in price that has HDR. Glad we bought it. This TV does great for action (no ghosting... the Hisense had some and it drove me nuts) and the image looks GREAT. I am using it with a FireTV to stream 4k content. Even ESPN over PlayStation Vue upscaled looked INCREDIBLE. Very impressed with this TV. The black levels are great, too. Highly recommend this one. Can't beat it for the price.

    Decent Budget Display

The Vizio M55 4K UHD is a good budget display. I did a lot of research and after a few recommendations and based on budget, I decided on the Vizio M55 series. The one thing that really stands out immediately is how good the actual display is. The color range, clarity, contrast and smoothness were phenomenal for a $700 display. The display did fabulous while gaming, streaming or just normal TV. Also, the addition of built in Chromecast was really nice and the ability to rename inputs was a great feature but thats about where the positives end. I haven't used cable in years and just use OTA TV. I knew there was no digital tuner built in so I knew going in that I would have to use an antenna to receive OTA stations. However, I didn't realize that there was a complete absence of any type of coax or cable hook up, meaning I had to buy a separate converter box to go into the display, adding another component and remote. This is also why I keep referring to it as a display and not TV. The Vizio isn't really a TV, it's a display that prevents you from using any type of analog signal, it's dependent on a receiver or input that would connect HDMI to the display. Next, the smart features are painfully slow. Loading times, back out times and changing inputs takes way longer than it should. At times, exiting a smart app would take 1-2 minutes to fully exit and go back to the hub. The design of the smart hub is simple but clunky. There were also times when the wifi signal to the display would randomly drop out and take 5-10 minutes to reconnect. I used it for a week and returned it. I purchased a more quality Samsung MU8000. Based on my experience the display would be best used if you are a cord-cutter or for a stand alone gaming TV with quality display performance. If you are looking for an everyday TV that is intuitive and easy to use, I wouldn't recommend a Vizio.

    Great Display

This model is the 2017 version of the Vizio M series. I purchased this display after returning a 60 inch LG 60UH6035. The contrast and black levels on that TV were not very good and the poor black levels were especially evident at night. The picture and black levels on the Vizio are much better and I am happy I gave up the extra 5 inches of size for a better picture. As of right now the TV does not have built in apps but Vizio is supposed to release an update in the coming months to add built in app functionality. I found an excellent review of this display on a website called rtings, it was very helpful with comparing this and other displays when I was not satisfied with my LG.
