I buy and review a lot of TV's as well as compare and research before buying. Hands down, the Vizio M series has the best picture for it's price range and even beats televisions that cost nearly double it's price. it's color range is outstanding and it's black uniformity is next level thanks to local dimming technology which basically only illuminates specific parts of the television for contrast in dark scenes. Long story short, no more black screens that look almost white and/or cloudy screens. Definitely worth the price and also good for gaming with it's low "input lag" (20ms appx). The sound isn't all too great but i mean that's not really their focus when trying to deliver great picture and after all it's 2019 people......buy a decent soundbar.

    Extremely Underwhelmed

Had very high hopes for this M series but the picture is nowhere near as good as the 6 year old Samsung we replaced it with. CNET and Tom's Guide really like it.....I don't get it. I have tried numerous adjustments and nothing has really improved the picture. You are also STUCK with Vizios interface which is NOWHERE near as nice as Amazon, Google or Roku. App selection is also VERY limited (seriously, no Google Play app?!). Have also needed to do two soft resets then a factory reset as the home screen would not populate (blank home screen with the remote not responding). And the remote......very poorly designed. Took a chance on Vizio and should have stuck with Samsung.

Hi Andy. Picture quality can vary depending on what content your watching. We'd recommend making sure any devices connected to the TV are set to broadcast in HD (10180P) , or UHD (2160P/4K). You can choose between a few different pre set picture modes by pressing the PIC button on your remote, or pressing menu- and choose the 'Picture' option to change individual values like brightness, color, and others. This TV also have support for chromecast, and Apple AirPlay. So you can access hundreds of compatible applications from the google play, or apple app store. VIZIO

This TV replaced a 4 yrs old Samsung that crapped the bed. I was not going back to Samsung. While researching new TVs this model kept appearing as one of the best mid range TVs. I have been playing with the picture settings for almost two weeks and cannot find an acceptable setting. I have an 8 yrs old vizio in my bedroom that has a better picture. Either it's not bright enough, too bright, colors are off or it's just not crisp. My wife who could care less about TV settings even noticed the sub par picture. I had higher hopes for this TV. I'm almost to the point I want to return it. Quantum my butt. I spent the extra money hoping for a better TV. I wish I would have just got the $500 LG. While setting up the TV you have to agree to the terms and conditions. Initially I declined to allow them to track me. The TV would not display a picture. I had to do a factory reset and agree to tracking then go back into setting and turn it off.

Hello ViziNO, Thank you for the feedback. A few things that might help you get the kind of picture quality you are looking for. First, make sure the Display is getting a hi-definition or 4K signal. This means making sure that your source device (like a cable/satellite box) is capable of HD or 4K, and that it's connected to your Display with an HDMI cable that can deliver the HD or 4K picture. You can also change between pre-set picture modes on the display by pressing the PIC button on your remote. This will toggle between a few picture settings that look good in different situations. If your display is in a bright room, try Vivid or Calibrated. If it’s in a dimmer room, try Calibrated Dark. The television does not require you to accept Smart Interativity to display a picture. Please contact our customer support at 877-878-4946 for assistance with your television. VIZIO

    Great picture, poor build quality

I purchased this right before super bowl weekend and I have had nothing but trouble. I thought I had done quite a bit of research for a good budget tv but I guess not. I've had this tv for about 2 1/2 months and I've had quite a bit of problem. I'm already on my second tv thanks to a dead local dimming zone. But I may have to request a second warranty on this tv. The sound keeps going out for a few seconds. And I noticed a large dead pixel today. The only redemming quality of this tv is the excellent picture if it is all working correctly. But that doesn't really happen that often.

When it comes to normal functions..just watching regular tv shows movies ect it’s great.! Verry clear pictures the colors really pop..but when it comes to gaming..which is The main purpose of the purchase for me..this is where things go wayyy left..playing fast past/twitch/quick movement games are not for this tv...you’ll see color lines pop up across the screen..and the screen gets fuzzy and all distorted...I’ve had this tv not even a full year yet...and it’s almost time for another one. It was legit a waste of 600$

I wouldn't take a Vizio if they gave me one. After the first year the backlight started going out. Then the TV would just shut off, change channels. Now it won't even turn on. Don't waste your money.

Purchased 6 weeks ago. Picture isn't that great. 15 year old Sony it replaced had a better picture. Sound system is a joke. Without sound bar it sounds like the tv is in a tin can. BUT my favorite thing is when the tv just turns itself on in the middle of the night. No more vizio's

TV turns on and off by itself

TV turns on by itself. Late at night or when you are not home the unit will turn on. It will also turn off for no reason. Vizio support says they are working on a solution but have no time frame. I know other Vizio customers with the same issue.
