Awesome Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maybe it's because I haven't gotten a new TV in years, but I am genuinely blown away with both the image quality and smart capabilities of this TV - especially at its price point. The design of this TV is pretty basic, and that's not a bad thing. It is all black and I love the two stands on both ends, so I can position my soundbar centered underneath. It's not the thinnest TV on the market, but you'll never really notice it. I kind of wish it had a little more flare to it, like a stainless steel bezel or something, but for the price, you can't ask for too much. Besides, this TV makes up in the functionality department to make up for lack of aesthetic design. In regards to image quality, you will certainly be pleased. It is very bright (sometimes even too bright for me) and at the same time, it is able to achieve pretty good blacks (for an LED). One of the reasons the dark colors can be achieved in contrast to the bright ones is this TV features local dimming zones (a HUGE PLUS). Colors are vibrant and the 4K HDR technology means you'll be able to see a lot more detail. The refresh rate of this TV 120 Hz, double of a similarly priced Samsung. So if you love fast-action videos or are into gaming (Team Xbox here), then this TV will be prefect. I have both a 4K Apple TV and Xbox One X, so these two devices are generally my go-to for consuming content. With that said, it is pretty cool that the M-Series Quantum is a "smart TV" with additional tricks up its sleeve. It has several apps pre-installed from the big players like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. Navigating these native apps aren't my favorite because of the included remote (which is probably because the TV is still relatively new to me and I'm used to using the Xbox controller or Apple TV remote). Nonetheless, there are many video apps to consume content. So if you don't have a third-party device, you have nothing to worry about. I previously mentioned that the TV has tricks up its sleeve. Those tricks are that it has Apple AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in. That means if you have an Apple device (iPhone or iPad) you can mirror your screen or play content directly onto the M-Series without any additional hardware. Super cool! I assume Chromecast works the same for Android devices (which I don't have). The other cool feature of the TV is that it works with Alexa, Hey Google, and Apple HomeKit. I've connected the TV to my Amazon Echo devices, and I can just tell Alexa to turn on my Living Room TV, and Boom! It turns on. You can also give other basic commands like muting and stuff. Pretty fun. It did take a hot minute to work after I went through the Alexa setup process on the TV, but once it did its thing and Alexa thought about it, it finally started working flawlessly. Okay, so what are my gripes? Like all TVs these days, you will absolutely need a soundbar of some sort. Yes, there are internal speakers, but they are crap (again, like literally ALL flat-panel TVs these days). So I guess it's not really a gripe rather than reality, but whatever. I don't really like the user interface of the TV either. It feels kind of cumbersome to me. Oh, and I made the mistake of connecting the Vizio remote to my Apple TV and while it worked with the Apple TV, it also simultaneously made UI inputs for the main screen of the TV (if that makes sense). It's like it was doing two things at once. I may have missed something, but I had to delete that remote setting from the Apple TV. Instead, I just made sure the Apple TV was able to work with the Vizio to turn up the volume, etc. All things considered, the Vizio 55" M-Series is a great television. For the price, you're getting a large screen, great image quality (especially with the local dimming feature), and awesome "smart" functionality.

Disappointed in my purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a little disappointed in the picture quality on this TV. I have owned several Vizio TV’s in the past and their picture was always excellent. Also, the speakers do not give you a good clear sound. You have to turn the volume way up to get it loud enough. I bought a sound bar to give me a better sound. I’m not sure I will buy a Vizio next time.

Meh
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV gets the job done at the lower-end price point. I’m not sure if the one I received is faulty or if it’s an issue with others but my screen will have some weird light flickering in certain scenes. It mainly happens when there’s scenes of waves/the ocean. Outside of that, the Vizio Home Screen could definitely use an upgrade.

Vizio tv
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A lot of gray and color seems to be flat. I was not getting the desired picture quality. I know it’s not a pricey tv but I thought vizio was competitive. Bang for the buck. Not in this case. I did not mess with picture buttons. I figured it was already calibrated. It’s possible I didn’t know How to set it up. I can’t afford geek squad or the xtras. That’s my review.

Excellent Buy for the Money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this model because of the Quantum color feature. It's great! We researched TV's before we bought and the reviews rated it the best of it's class under $1,000. We spent the extra $100 over TV's without the Quantum color and we believe it's worth the upgrade.

Worked for 10 minutes
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It worked for 10 mins and then the screen went black. We unplugged it and let it sit for a while. When we plugged it back in the screen is still basically black. You can see that it is on but definitely not working. We got this for Christmas and finally got our basement finished and used is for the first time today. It's past the return time by a week but I'm hoping Best Buy will make it right. Very disappointing.
