There are numerous firmware issues that mess with your settings. The HDMI 2.1 handshake is still broken in 2021, meaning sometimes you won't even get an image (or sound) displayed out from your pc. I own an RTX 3090 Founders Edition with HDMI 2.1 support and it still fails to support 4k at 120 hz or variable refresh rate. HDR is not that impressive either. With the incorrect gamma and color settings, you will experience raised blacks. Even if this TV was sold at a 50% discount, I would still advise you to buy the other, more experienced competitor as the software is just that bad and frustrating in the 2020 Vizio OLED 55.

Posted .Hello Iaan, thank you for taking time to provide us with your feedback. The native refresh rate does NOT fully describe the TV’s motion clarity technology. The “open cell” or “native” refresh rate describes only the glass panel’s ability to refresh the image on the screen, without taking into account the benefit of the scanning backlight. The “native” refresh rate for this TV is 120. VIZIO’s TVs have a Dynamic Motion Rate, which better describes the TV’s ability to achieve motion clarity through the use of its glass panel and scanning backlight. The Dynamic Motion Rate for this TV is 240. If you are using an Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 gaming console with the TV, I would recommend to ensure they are connected to HDMI 1 or 4. A beautiful display (just needs firmware updates)

The only issue is HDMI 2.1 support for 4k60, 4k120, is really buggy at the moment. Vizio is promising firmware updates to solve it, but nothing at the moment. On the latest firmware as of now, my RTX3080 equipped PC can interface via HDMI 2.1 only on the HDMI 1 port (incidentally, its one of the back ports on the display not labeled as HDMI 2.1 compatible). Everything else causes a black screen. Aside from that, a great display!

If I physically powered the tv off, I would have to unplug the power in order to get It to come back on. When it works it’s great but too much hassle.
