What a SmartTV

I love every second looking at this set! You may pay more but it's very much worth the price! Vizio hit this set out the park. I have been an Vizio owner since 2008 and this out of the 4 purchased is my best one by a miles! I'm in love with this Smart TV!

Power problems

I turned it off last night after use, this morning it would not turn on via the remote or manual. I had to power cycle it. Is this a known issue?

Stay Away from VIZIO Products

Would not recommend this or any VIZIO product. Stay away. Cheaply built and poor quality. Customer service is terrible!

Save Your Money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can’t believe Vizio put out a TV like this. Half baked would be a compliment. As discussed on several forums, many of the basic features are still broken, not to mention some of the advanced features. The TV not being able to retain settings is the biggest offender. It doesn’t seem like it would be that hard to fix, but moreover, how did the unit get released in this condition? This is a flagship model that has problems that you wouldn’t find on a low end set from any manufacturer. Where was quality control? It’s been six months. It’s also been almost two months since the last firmware update. I have to go into settings and lower the luminance every single time I turn on the TV. Come on Vizio, what is this? This is as unacceptable as showing up drunk for a job interview. The reality is that it could be many months or possible years before these issues are fixed. Also, there is no guarantee they will ever be taken care of. Vizio should be embarrassed about this TV and they should make it right. These sets should either be fixed or recalled with the option for a full refund. Of course it is doubtful that will ever happen, but Best Buy should stop selling these. It even makes them look bad. I would not be happy if I were a Vizio shareholder knowing that they do business this way. We all need to vote with our wallet in the future. This is my first and last Vizio no matter what. What a way to keep your customers. Yeah, that is the people that keep your business afloat. As for me, lesson learned.

Not quite ready

The motion handling is nauseatingly juddery. Even with a pure 24p signal. Then there's the updates they put through the TV. It introduced a raised blacks issue. If you put in a pure black image, the TV should look like the screen is off. But it's not pure black anymore. It looks like the black is glowing. I know it's not just my TV doing it, because this issue is with everyone who has updated. I'd suggest you go to the AVS forum and search for all the issues of this TV before you buy.

So when BB had this Vizio OLED on Black Friday sale, I jumped on it. However, once I got it home and set it up, it wouldn't power up. The logo would show, then a green vertical line, at which point the unit would turn off. This happened 2x, after which the set was completely dead. The next morning I brought it back to the BB stores that I had purchased it from for an exchange, but they had none in stock. Sigh... Got a refund, disappointed, but still looking.

OLED image, but all else sub-par
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About to hit 90 day warranty and the tuner crapped out (I use an HD antenna for broadcast TV). On day 91 you're out of luck. Also, in the previous 90d have had to "reboot" 4x to re-establish WiFi. The WiFi is perhaps 4 feet away. I don't get it... disappointing. Poor, basic remote, including annoying "hard coded" buttons to services partnered with Vizio. I believe remote real estate should be more Vizio "direct" customer-centric. Or at least make them programmable. Leaving an "extra" star as the OLED video quality watching 4k Netflix, Amazon... is exceptional.

Great picture, when screen isn’t black.

I’ve had the television for about a month. Picture quality is amazing but as previously stated screw cuts to black on a fairly consistent basis. Should have spent the extra money on the LG or Sony oled.

******Inappropriate Apps For Kids Can’t Be Removed

I bought the 55” OLED a couple of months ago and the new SmartCast TV default app ribbon has a major flaw. You cannot delete any of the 70+ default apps from showing in the ribbon on the homepage. I know of at least one app that does a terrible job of blocking inappropriate content via the app itself, and Vizio’s new system is failing parents. Until Vizio offers a way to block or delete default apps (like their older Smart TV systems allowed) do not buy their SmartCast TVs. I discovered this flaw as I was trying to remove an app after catching too many videos that appeared to be kids videos at first, but contained content showing heads being cut off, stabbings, shootings, f-bombs, and hateful/derogatory statements about women, even in restricted play mode. These videos were easily accessed by my 6 year old. If Vizio won’t allow apps to be blocked or deleted then Vizio cannot be separated from the content of those apps. Such a shame that Vizio is not protecting kids as a priority anymore — very disappointing.

Motion Handling

Picture settings don’t stick and it will revert back to the default settings every time you turn on a device. Not so bright...

Avoid it until they figure out how to make it work

For some reason having a console or a pc connected and turning the console off and then turning the tv off while showing no input causes it to never turn on again until you hard reset it which obviously is not viable since consumers are creatures of comfort. Am returning since I am still in the return period but its disappointing because it does look great. Vizio youve known about the problem since it released you comment on every post here why cant you figure it out

Took a chance on this tv.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took a chance on this tv being a VIzio and I returned and got the song A8h.first the notion is Carl on this tv plus this tv can't get out of blacks there just so much crush with the blacks i am pretty advanced with calabrating tvs but after 5days working on this that was enough colors are pretty good but not enough to fix this poor tv. Now very happy with the a8h now that's a great panel so just waisted a little time now happy

DO NOT BUY THIS TV!

It randomly turns off on its on and I have to unplug it and then plug it back up. Also I get a black screen almost on a daily basis. I regret ever upgrading from my hisense ULED, yes I said my hisense! For $1300 this tv has a lot of bug and glitches.
