I love this TV. For the price, the TV offers a lot of features that other brands may not, like the mode specifically built for gaming. Also, the apps work smoothly and navigate easily. I definitely recommend this TV.

I recently acquired a 58” Vizio M-Series Quantum LED 4K Smartcast TV and have to say it’s an impressive step up from my previous 4K TV. This is an affordable TV with many features that rival or outperform similar TVs in its class. This is considered a “Smartcast” TV so it’s a bit different than what some might expect as it does not support many Apps like HBO, Showtime, etc. Instead, those channels are used on a mobile App and “cast” to the Vizio TV. Don’t be alarmed as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and many other Apps are supported natively, but this is something that I feel should be pointed out. Unboxing – Fedex delivered my 58” version and the box was sturdy and undamaged on arrival. There are a couple straps holding the box together and once cut, the top simply lifts off. One of the cool features of the packaging is a heavy-duty bag that includes lifting handles so the TV can be lifted out of the packaging easily. I was able to unbox and setup the TV by myself with the help of this handy bag! The only building required is to install the feet. They have 2 settings “high” and “low” depending on whether there is a soundbar present. As we use a Sonos soundbar, I set them to “high” with the provided set screws. Voila, it’s ready to be set up! Setup – There are 4 HDMI inputs including an eARC for connecting a soundbar. There is also an optical audio out, USB 2.0 and Ethernet connections as well. Once of the cool features is you can name the HDMI inputs according to your configuration, for instance we use Roku on HDMI 1, so it’s called “Roku”. Little things that make it easier to use down the road. Once power is connected, the systems walks the user through setting up WiFi (can also be done with the ethernet input) and once complete there were about 3 updates that took place. It took about 5 minutes for them to run and once complete the home screen popped up. Out Roku box was connected via HDMI and the Vizio recognized it instantly and renamed the HDMI port automatically. Features & Operation – as my previous 4K TV was Android based, I took a few minutes to familiarize myself with the home screen. It’s a standard layout with a couple rows of Apps and highlights of shows and movies that are available. The layout of apps can be customized using the “system” function on the remote. I went to Nextflix and put on 4K content to see what the display was all about. Wow, the first thing you notice is the vibrant colors and very crisp contrast and deep blacks. The biggest thing I noticed were the red colors, they are the truest “red” I have ever seen on any TV. We are running the audio from a Sonos soundbar which connected instantly with the eARC input and the Vizio remote supports the soundbar operations. The Vizio supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for an incredible audio immersion experience for content delivered with Dolby sound. After viewing 4K content I wanted to check out the “WatchFree+” feature that comes with the TV. This is a fantastic feature and has me thinking about cutting my cable plan! There are literally 100s of channels of free content ranging from old game shows to sporting events, news and movies. Way to go Vizio! I’ve continued to use pretty much the setup straight out of the box, but there are a plethora of audio and video adjustments that can be made to make any user happy. Apple Support – as an Apple “household” the AirPlay2 support is a welcomed feature. I can easily connect any of my Apple devices to the Vizio TV. My previous TVs did not get along well with Apple, so this is a plus! The Remote – pretty basic but a good layout and easy to use with quick buttons for Netflix, Disney+ and others build in. Voice remote capabilities and it supports my Sonos soundbar. Pros: - Active Full Array – Vizio’s technology provides very dark blacks and incredible depth and contrast. - Dynamic Motion Rate of 120Hz – I watch a lot of sports and the output is very smooth with no ghosting - AirPlay2 Support – a must have for any Apple users - WatchFree+ - who doesn’t like 100 of free channels of content! - Quantum Color – I have literally never seen such vibrant colors including reds on previous TVs - SmartCast – provides a very user-friendly platform for watching content from any device - Design – this is a great looking TV for its price point with 3 edge bezel-less design - Multiple HDMI inputs and eARC included Cons: - Nitpicking here, but some of the menu display fonts are very small and impossible to read from across the room - No backlight on the remote Overall, this is a fantastic 4K TV option for the price point, it looks great is easy to set up and use and the output is brilliant and crisp. I would certainly recommend this TV to anyone seeking a new 4K TV.

I had a Vizio 37 inch some years ago and loved it. So, I decided to buy another one despite some of the bad reviews. Set up was easy but as soon as I plugged it in and turned it on my smile went away. There were pink vertical lines on the right side and blue lines on the left. I looked up what I could do to repair the problem but nothing worked. It was not easy getting the TV into the elevator and inside my apartment. And that’s all I thought about when I realized it had to be returned. I generally don’t mind reading negative reviews because I find them helpful. However, I really should have made a decision not to buy this brand based on the multiple negative reviews based on the same issue I encountered. I was replacing a Samsung but exchanged the Vizio for another Samsung. I’ll stay with this brand.

The perfect TV to be mounted in my bedroom! Added an AppleTV to the back because Vizio doesn't support the ESPN app, but that is the only downside.

Thank God I got the Geek Squad warranty. This was a good TV until it started getting artifacts and lines. The repair guy could not fix it (it's also known issue on Vizios) so I got a refund and bought a TCL 6 Series instead.
