Great tv when it works. Won’t load the SmartCast Home Screen about 98% of the time and if you use the quick app buttons on top of the remote to get into a show about 80% of the time it will just go straight to the Home Screen without touching the remote.

I received this P659-G1 to replace our 10-year old 55" Vizio E550VL. The 55" still works (passed it to our son). But this new 65" model really stands out mounted on our bedroom wall! Relatively, not very heavy at all and had easy mounting points. Plenty of HDMI connections for our 3 devices (TiVo Mini Vox, Apple TV, and Roku Stick). Really don't even need the Roku stick anymore since this TV has a nice built-in set of apps. I can connect with the Vizio SmartCast app from my iPhone AND can use Airplay 2 to connect from my iPhone as well in the same manner as my Apple TV. Very slick with all the latest connection technology. Even comes with ~100 free web channels in the itnerface, but I don't really need it since I have cable. As far as the picture quality: FANTASTIC. The default color settings were almost spot on (I believe the setting was called "calibrated"). Plasma-like black and very bright when needed. When a show goes to commercial with the brief moment of black screen, there is ZERO back lighting bleed. The room is pitch dark just like when the TV is completely off. Motion while watching NBA and NHL was very smooth and on par with my Samsung 60" plasma. Just very impressed with the picture quality, motion, contrast, color, and brightness adjustments. The weakest point is probably the sound. I played with the various settings and depending on the show or broadcast, it sometimes sounds odd. Like the crowd overshadowing the announcers during a baseball game. Minor gripe, and I don't have a soundbar or stereo connected to this TV, but probably my only gripe nonetheless. Anyway, go see it in person at the store if you can. I really think you won't be disappointed. I hope it lasts at least as long as the old 55" that we replaced!

I purchased the first Vizio in November. Two weeks later it would turn on by itself in the middle of the night. Best Buy replaced it with a new one which was great. However, about a month later, the picture goes dark then completely disappears but the sound remains. Best Buy WOULD NOT replace it. Instead they are sending the Geek Squad to replace parts. I am very disappointed that I will bought a new TV only to have it refurbished a month later. I'm still waiting so I don't even know if it will get properly fixed. Wish I had bought a Samsung.

Let me start by saying I have used Vizio TVs for a while now, never had any issues with them. But I’ve owned this one a little over a week now and the LEDs are already flickering causing lines in the image, tried multiple inputs and different devices but can see in the image what I’m seeing. I have reached out to Vizio support for help and can update review accordingly but this is disappointing, possibly is a faulty unit. Other than this the P-Series Quantum has a great image!

I’ve had the TV for about 2 years and I’m starting to regret it . About 3 weeks ago my tv started showing Horizontal lines on it when I turn it on . It also feels like the quality of brightness has been diminished . Also it seems like it’s blurring lettering on a certain side of the tv which honestly hurts my eyes. I bought this tv with high hopes due to the Quality and size but after 2 years it starts acting up ? I looked past all the small things like the tv Turning on randomly or the apps being really slow and low quality but this is something I can’t look past . It’s sad that it starts to do this after I finished paying it . I wasn’t expecting this on such a big purchase

My love for Vizio televisions have increased since we received the VIZIO P-Series Quantum 65'. We have currently have 2 VIZIO M-Series televisions and really enjoyed those devices, and are not disappointed with the P-Series Quantum. Not only is this device massive, I am impressed with the picture quality for both Digital content, but all forms of entertainment consumption: Video Games, DVD's, and streaming. We've had this television for about 3 weeks now and am still impressed and overjoyed at the quality I'm seeing. Pros: -Easy installation. The box is very intimidating, and it required both my wife and I to lift and set atop the entertainment stand. It is not heavy but mass is so large it required the two of us to position it properly without damaging it. The two stands were easy to install and it rests at a slight angle back, not straight vertical. -Ports: 5 HDMI ports rests on the TV's back left. Your typical set-up for televisions of this size which I like. Easy to access, no concerns here. -Quality: The pictures we receive are amazingly clear at any angle and distance and any media. Of course the quality looks fantastic when on the digital streaming sources (i.e. Netflix, Prime, connecting to our iPad), but also older forms such as DVD's that are not Digital still looked great. My children watched for the first time the Indiana Jones trilogy on DVD here, and the quality was great. Of course, it also highlights the short comings of special effects in the early 80's, but I digress. You will continuously be amazed at the crisp and colors from the Quantum P-series. I was watching game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals last night, and the depths of quality and detail are just astounding. Cons: -Packaging. The remote control and legs were found at the top of the box. But when you slide the outer box up to access the TV, the controls and legs are now at the bottom of the box. Being a deep box, I almost fell in trying to reach down for them. Overall, I am really thrilled with this television. Worth the investment and a worthy replacement. VIZIO has come a long way and continues to impress me with their line of televisions.

I have had my television for a little over a year, just past the manufacturer’s warranty and now the screen has developed 3 dark spots in the center of the screen. They look like shadows and it's obviously extremely irritating, especially when you watching anything with a light background because the shadows become more prevalent. I am extremely disappointed, especially after paying more for the P Series, which what Vizio touts as the top tier model. I guess it's time to go to another brand,

    Amazing TV

Super easy to put together. It's very thin and sleek with a very premium look and feel to it. TVs stand is very wide so make sure you have a table/stand that will support it. Set up is very easy. There was an issue with my wifi initially that made me concerned but once that was resolved I felt much better. Picture quality is absolutely the best I've ever owned. It's not OLED but the dimming zones make it close. Colors pop like you've never seen. And the tv supports both HDR10 and Dolby Vision but not HDR10+. Watching TV and movies are incredibly awesome on this TV. Gaming is great as well. I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 in both 4K and HDR and it looks the best I've ever seen it. My only issues with the tv are the remote and audio. The remote looks great for a tv released in 2008, not 2019. It's functional but not very user friendly at times. You can use your smartphone as a remote which is actually much easier. Audio that comes from the tv is rather dull. It gets somewhat loud but nothing great. I have a sound bar that makes it much better. Smart Cast works well but also needs an overhaul. Limited number of apps compared to a Roku. Built in Chromecast is nice though. The built in Netflix app tends to want to default to 5.1 surround sound rather than stereo. Which means I have to manually change it every time I want to watch something. Not like that when im on my Xbox or Playstation. Overall this TV is well worth the money. I got it on sale for $999 and it's worth every penny. Comparable to any Samsung worth way more.

If you are buying a new TV to watch Blu-Ray movies or 4K content like Netflix or Vudu, then this Vizio is an excellent value and a great purchase. The color highlights that the HDR produces is amazing and the motion handling is great. I own several UHD movies on the Vudu app, and they look fantastic on this TV. The color is vibrant, and dark scene performance and black levels are superb. The screen can get very bright for sunny rooms without overpowering when the lights are off. While the Smart features are occasionally a little slow, the interface is ad-free and does not prioritize content displayed based on source (i.e. Amazon vs. Netflix vs. Hulu). Overall this is a very good TV. There is one reason why I cannot give this Vizio 5 stars: upscaling of lower resolution content. If you are someone who primarily watches cable, antenna, or uses channel streaming services like Sling or YouTubeTV, this may not be the TV for you. These types of sources all broadcast or stream in 720p, which this Vizio sometimes struggles to upscale (and of course 480p DVD's are worse). I have spent a lot of time adjusting picture settings to get these sources to look better, but I have been unsuccessful. When watching a 65" TV, lower resolution is obvious if it isn't upscaled well. So keep this in mind if your primary viewing sources are not 1080p or 4K. Since I don't have cable, this isn't really an issue for me, but I do notice some fuzziness when watching local channels on an antenna or streaming games on the ESPN app. With that said, the P-Series Quantum is still a very good TV and certainly holds its own against more expensive Sony and Samsung models. If you want a fantastic experience watching 4K and HDR content or playing Xbox/PS4, you can't beat the value of this Vizio.

    Another solid improvement for Vizio

I have been a fan of Vizio's P-series for a while now, as it is one of the best "bang for the buck" options for 4K/HDR. I currently have a 2016 P50-C1 as my bedroom TV for gaming and movies, so I was looking forward to checking out the 2019 P-Series Quantum sets as a replacement for my aging living room TV. So far, I couldn't be happier. Packaging was much improved over the past Vizios, and I feel pretty confident that these will arrive safely to your home. Vizio now makes the boxes so they lift off of the internal packing, and then the TV can be lifted up by handles on the plastic bag that it is in, making it easy to lay down on a flat surface to install the legs (or in my case, a VESA mount for my stand). From a calibration standpoint, out-of-the-box color for SDR is a little off but a few minor adjustments brought it back into line (color 53, tint -1). Brightness and contrast defaults are good as-is, so for most users, this TV will be fantastic without much in the way of tweaking. You can pretty much use the Calibrated Dark preset in a typically dark room and be happy. I do find that the HDR10 tends to run a bit darker than I'm used to as far as average picture level, which can be mitigated by changing gamma to 2.1. Dolby Vision content, however, does skew on the darker side than HDR10 content and critical users may need to do a little adjustment to get a picture they're happy with. Black levels are fantastic with this set, even by comparison to my older model, giving you a very high contrast picture with nicely saturated colors. For the price, you get 90-95% of the picture quality of far more expensive televisions, which seems to be Vizio's comfort zone in the market. The only negative that I have found thus far is an issue with my UHD player, though it is a very niche problem. When the TV is connected to an AVR on one input and my UHD player connected to HDMI 2 with my UHD player's second audio-only HDMI out run to the AVR (since it is not HDCP 2.2 compatible), the Vizio gets confused in handshaking and the AVR loses audio. I found a way to sort this out in the meantime (by disconnecting the AVR from the TV when watching a UHD disc), but it is very odd that the handshaking from one HDMI port can affect one of the others that isn't active. Again, this is a very niche use case, so it may not affect very many people.

So I have had a 47inch LED from LG that is also a 3D TV since 2011...recently friends are saying "Dude, you need to see what 4K is like, you need a bigger tv" etc so I decided to bite the bullet. I had never even had a 50inch tv, but when playing NBA 2k20 sometimes it was hard to tell which player is mine when I was inside the paint, due to the smaller 47incher I had...so I opted for this 65inch. Sure, I saw a lot of "great" deals on 65 inch tvs under $700, and almost even got the M series Quantum, until I went into an actual best buy and looked at the pictures. The P series is brighter and just CRISPER than the M series, and it is worth it to spend a little more to get the "full" 4K HDR experience. It upscales 1080p content pretty nicely and has vibrant colors, when I first got the tv I loaded the youtube app and went to different 4K videos to show it off (Costa Rica in 4K etc) and WOW...the detail...the colors. Am I actually there or am I in my living room? NOT SURE! NBA 2K20 is now a full on gaming EXPERIENCE. I am no longer playing the game, I feel like I am in it, the players are HUGE now; my LG had pretty tinny wimpy speakers, and while the Vizio built in ones are probably standard around this price range, it sounds a ton better and has a little kick. All in all, sure it cost a pretty penny, but I LOVE this tv, had it for 3 weeks. We shall see how she holds up.
