Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the superb picture quality, vibrant colors, and smooth refresh rate as significant strengths of the 65" Class P-Series Quantum Series LED 4K UHD SmartCast TV. However, some users have reported issues with the HDMI 2.1 ports and SmartCast software needing improvement. Concerns have also been raised regarding the variable refresh rate (VRR) functionality and blooming. The price-to-performance ratio is frequently praised.

Ok, So! This TV deserves every star I gave it for its price point. Its 300 dollars cheaper than all its equal competitors. For that loss in price, you lose a few things, Its plastic backed, not metal backed. The legs are inconveniently wide (This is because its more expensive to build a skeleton inside the casing to support a center stand) and the software is.... laggy. I've watched reviews prior to my purchase and it seemed that Visio might finally have fixed their laggy OS, this is not the case. Its not terrible... but its noticeable. Out of the box, I was a bit disappointed when I started playing some stuff, but after getting rid of the "smoothness" effects like judder control and other things, I found that it was absolutely gorgeous. All of the HDR and Dolby Vision stuff worked out of the box and Calibrated and Calibrated Dark are almost spot on. I barely adjusted any of the settings after playing with some calibration images. As everyone here has said... the picture is stunning, the backlight in these is simply amazing for HDR. My wife and I watched a movie at night and I had left it on Calibrated, we got to a dark scene and a character pulled out a flashlight... no joke... it felt like someone had put a flashlight in my eyes. I switched it to Calibrated Dark and it was much more tolerable but it was an eye opening experience to see just how bright this TV can be. In my particular use scenario... I have this mounted with a wall mount to a custom made ceiling mount in my vaulted ceiling living room. This addressed my use of the legs... I dont need them so I definitely wont complain about them. I also found that there is a surprisingly long list of commands for Alexa for this TV. I dont even use the software on the TV much, I simply tell her to turn it on, and open whatever app I want. She can control the volume, the channel, the app, and even change the picture modes. The setup for this is easy and took me about 5 minutes. This addressed all my complaints with not having voice control on the remote, and any lagginess with the software. All said and done, think about your use for the TV and make a decision based on the features you need and want. While objectively, I would rate this 4 stars in comparison to other $1500 dollar TVs for these drawbacks, I think it has earned its 5th star by saving me $300. The TV does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it brilliantly.

Juddering is bad. Tried calibrating it but no luck. Had to turn off earc so sound wouldnt cut out while playing on my series s. Hdmi 3 port not working properly. Plugged my xbox on it and got black screen. Switching to port 4 worked. Image quality is nice but had to troubleshoot for a good 5 or so days to get it to work properly sans judder.

Colors are not as dark and vivid as I expected. The color also goes in and out a lot and will often stay black when switching inputs. Also noticed an issue with the volume not coming on when you switch from device to device. Would not recommend to anyone!

Hello NotThrilled, at VIZIO we pride ourselves on our highly rated picture quality. Sites like CNet, RTings, and Reviewed.com consistently rate VIZIOs picture quality among the best in the industry. To make sure you’re getting the most out of you VIZIO TV, we’d recommend making sure your devices are connected with an HDMI cable, and that you’re getting an HD (or UHD) signal. You can also individually adjust your picture settings in the menu. For brighter rooms try using the Vivid or Calibrated setting, for darker rooms try ‘Calibrated Dark’. If you’d like any assistance adjusting these settings, our customer support team would love to help you dial in the TV to your preference, you can reach them at 844-254-8087. VIZIO

Bought this on launch day since I had been on the lookout for this. Major horizontal and vertical banding issues on the panel I received. Backlight handling is terrible, major blooming issues. Contacted Vizio and they were initially very difficult to deal with, asking for pictures of each complaint. When I sent the pictures, they wanted pictures from different aspects, of a different source etc. Once I made them realize I was within the return window, they agreed to send me a replacement and set it up. However, I realize the pain is just not worth it. A replacement panel may solve banding issues, but will definitely not solve the terrible backlight handling on this. There is major blooming around brighter objects, bright blooming on screen edges on a grey screen etc.

Before I get into my review I just want to preface what will be below. I am rating this tv 5 stars because it is visually stunning, the apps are fantastic, smartcast works great. I wanted to give this 4 stars because right now Vizio and Xbox Series X are having compatibility issues with HDMI 2.1 which is a major issue for me. However, after speaking with an attentive support rep this is a known issue and they are working on it. The Good: - The packaging is really stunning and the unboxing experience was really great. I definitely recommend that you have another person help you unbox the tv. It comes with 4 mounting screws already installed into the back of the television. This was pretty seamless and the tv looks really nice on the wall. - HDMI Ports 3 and 4 are 2.1 which allows 120Hz while gaming. This will also be in the down side column below. - When the Xbox Series X is connected with 4K HDR 120Hz the visuals and gameplay are flawless. I have never experienced anything like this before and Vizio knocked gaming out of the park. -The ProGaming Engine in the TV seems to work nicely. I tested a few games out on a 4k 60Hz TV vs this Vizio and the difference is incredibly noticeable. -Smartcast works really well...big fan. -The Home screen eliminates the need for any other streaming device. It's excellent. -did I mention the visuals are stunning yet...if I didn't...they are STUNNING. -Auto device detection (when this works...it works well.) IE: It will recognize that the Xbox is in port 4 and it will change the name automatically to Xbox. Really neat feature and makes scrolling through inputs easier. Cons: -HDMI 2.1 Now I know that HDMI 2.1 is a new thing but I have been exceedingly frustrated trying to get the XSX to work flawlessly when in ports 3 or 4. At this current moment I have to unplug the HDMI from the TV multiple times in order to get 4K 120Hz. However, if I default the XSX to 1080P 60Hz and it displays every time. Sometimes the Xbox won't even recognize that the TV is 4K capable. I did speak with Vizio support who were quite attentive. They informed me that this is a known firmware issue and they are working with Microsoft to resolve it. Right now I have had the TV a few days so my only cons are HDMI 2.1. I highly recommend this TV for anyone and I have always been a big supporter of Vizio. They really make outstanding products with really great prices. Massive thanks to Vizio for allowing me to review this TV...it really is a great product!

Purchased this to based on reviews and recommendations. Within a week of getting it home, the sound did not work properly and it would not turn on. Reported the issue to Vizio support. They scheduled a repair person to come out in 2 weeks. The repair person replaced 2 of the 3 boards in the tv. It worked again for a few days then reverted to not turning on at all. Vizio support then scheduled a replacement tv to be delivered. Again, it was another 2 weeks for it to be delivered. The new tv freezes occasionally. An unplug-replug gets it back in line. Vizio support has been anything but supportive over my frustration that our new tv didn’t work for the first month we had it.

Not a fan of Vizio's at all but I still tried it and I was not happy. I hate Vizio's UI, I hate how you can't add apps on the tv, picture in blacks are horrible alot of fuzzy white spots, Dolby is decently nice but I expected more.
