Display Dying After Four Years
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our Vizio E70E3 display has started to die - the left side of the screen is dark and nearly impossible to watch, darker the further to the left of screen. The defect occupies most of the left side. It has been an excellent display to this point, but I believe one should expect more than four years service from a $1000.00 appliance. This is a common defect with this Vizio model and many consumers get far less than four years of service. I guess we should feel blessed. Another negative is that the display has no tuner. We had to buy an external tuner in order to cut the cord and use an over the air antenna. Had I realized this up front, I would have never purchased this Vizio flat screen TV. I won't be buying another Vizio product.

Big Screen
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my 70" Vizio!! No issues to speak of currently. Only downside would be is the weight of the TV while trying to mount it on the wall.

Eh...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased Nov 2016 and now I have a large shadow from the left reaching the middle of the screen. Not great for long term. Also you will notice a ghost like effect when the moving object is brighter than the background.

You get what you pay for (and nowadays even less)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was always a Sony customer. Their TV's used to last for decades. Took a chance and bought this 70" in Nov 2017 at a great sale price and didn't last 3 years of normal use. Backlight starting to fail in sections. First thought it was burn-in but I don't abuse my TV's, I use surge-protector power strips and just about every cable box, Blu-Ray player and media device now has some form of screensaver, anyway. Won't buy Vizio again- lesson learned.

Not a good tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a 70" Vizio tv from bestbuy but after using it, already saw an issue with the picture due to the lamp being off or broken. There were halos on one side of the screen, most visible on a white screen. They are exchanging us for a new one but it's unfortunate it wasn't right the first time. Now having to wait another week for delivery of the replacement. Praying it wont happen again being we purchased a 2000 dollars table console to special fit the 70 inch and not bigger. And Vizio is the only one that makes a 70 inch.

Poor Quality - Didn’t Even Last 2 Years!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this TV in January 2018 and it worked great until October 2020. It now has several dark “blackout” areas scattered throughout the screen - you can see these areas in the photo provided with my review. The blackout patches are growing in number and have expanded significantly since October. We splurged and paid over $1,000 for this TV and it didn’t even last 2 years. Never again. I’ve since read that this issue is common with this VIZIO in particular and that their customer service is terrible. Never again for us. We just bought a LG to replace this dying VIZIO.

Skeptical at first, but d**n what a good buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant as I wanted a true HDR tv at 120Hz native. But after getting this TV home and calibrating to my viewing perspective I am more then impressed! For starters I was not going to go out and buy new HDMI 2.0s and new 4K discs along with a 4K player. This thing upscaled my Blu-Rays extremely well. And for some reason it plays the HDR10 shows and movies on Netflix perfectly! Was not expecting that as the guys at best buy said it wouldn't play HDR10. For $950 after tax I feel this has been one of my best purchases so far. Highly recommend anyone who is expecting am excellent picture for low price pick this thing up whole it's on sale.

Dead Pixel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV a year and two months ago and I already have a dead pixel through the middle of the screen. I called Vizio and of course Vizio says it's out of their year warranty by 2 months and it's not economically reasonable to repair. So they're saying the TV is a total loss but they also will not replace it. I will never be purchasing a Vizio product again!

Bottom Line: Best 70" 4K Display at This Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this up for my Living room... Vizio has built a pretty solid rep over the last 10yrs or so. I read some reviews online and took a shot with this set. I remember reading about this display online and I was very concerned about the comments regarding the limitations of the remote. I struggled for days with that. However I pulled the trigger anyway. NOTE: Typically I would install a front Projector for my Home Theater needs but things are a bit different now that I have a wife. She wasn't having it so we settled on a 70" display. So far I must say I am alot more than impressed with this display. And the Smartcast software from your phone works brilliantly with this display. If you are on the ropes because of the "remote issue", take my word for it and trust me, it's not an issue once you sync this display to your smartphone or tablet. It's smooth and intuitive. Now... The dreaded lack of built in apps... That really had me on the ropes. reading about how this TV has no real menu and you have to basically use individual apps from a phone/tablet to cast content to this display seemed problematic and clunky to me. However, I can say now since I have been using this display for a little over a month now, trust me it works very well. Just install your Wifi router as close to this TV as possible and you should be just fine. For those who feel this is not a SmartTV, you are correct. This is not a TV at all. It has NO tuner. But who needs a tuner built into their TV in 2017?? I mean, really. ... The display works just as advertised. And to clarify, when you are using the display to cast from Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, etc... You are not downloading to your phone so that you can upload to the display... That would be a tremendous strain on your home bandwidth and would make a device like this not very appealing. The way this display and others like it works is by using your phone/tablet as a remote control for the existing software and apps built into the display. So when you cast to the display you are essentially just pointing the display to a URL. Anyone with Chromecast knows how this works. (Apps like AllCast for local content are different of course) My only real issue with this display is that it does bleed light from the bottom left. So when u wall-mount this baby, once the lights go out u will notice light shining onto the wall behind the display. For those who are Home Theater hobbyists and videophiles of some sort, that could be a deal killer. That is my only gripe with this set. Oh and of course the lack of HDR. But I knew what I was paying for. 4K content looks amazing on this display. 1080p upscaled to 4K is amazing as well. No issues there. I have an HTPC with 1920 x 1080 output via HDMI connected to how display and the upscale engine of this display does a wonderful job. Again... FOR THIS PRICE, you cannot get a better 70" display... Legally.

Great HDR10 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this unit about 4 months ago and have been very happy with it. There is a firmware update that turns on HDR10 support in the TV and it looks gorgeous now that I have the Apple TV 4K hooked up to it. I have had no issues with the picture quality and am very happy with it, the price can’t be beat either. The Chromecast is nice, but not for most people. They updated it to include a GUI with some apps but it is very limited. I would recommend pairing this TV with a Apple TV, Fire TV or Roku (4K versions). I am very happy after adding one of those rather than using chrome cast and the built in apps. There are a few downsides that may be worth calling out: -It takes an unusually long time to turn on (like 5+ seconds) -The sound was a bit lacking and muffled when wall mounted. I got a 36” Vizio sound bar and am very happy now, nice volume control integration. -This TV has 4 HDMI ports but only ports 1 & 2 support 4K video. Only port 1 supports HDR 4K.
