Customers are positive about the picture quality, price, large screen, and easy setup of the 70" Class - LED - E-Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR. They appreciate the great clarity, affordability, size, and user-friendly installation process. However, customers are negative about the remote control, durability, Smartcast, speakers, and limited apps. They have concerns about the remote's responsiveness, the occasional inconsistency of the Smartcast feature, the low-quality built-in speakers, and the limited number of apps and lagging issues.

I'm coming from an HD projector for my big screen viewing. The screen on my projector is over 100 inches. It's great and will still be enjoyable for watching movies, but it lacks brightness and color pop. I've been holding out for a 100 inch TV that will be under $1,000. That will still be a little time to wait for that to happen. After shopping around and researching TV's I decided to get at least HDR and Full Array Local Dimming. The 60/120 hz doesn't bother me or family members so 60 hz is fine here. Initially, I went with a 55 inch TCL 6 series due to all the gleaming reviews, and the fact it fit better within my budget. I knew I wouldn't be content with the 55 inch size, and I wasn't very impressed with Best Buy's demos of the Series 6 models on the floor. The Vizio E series 65 inch that they have on display caught my attention. I read the reviews, and even though not as gleaming as the TCLs, I decided to go with my eye judgment. Brought the 70 inch home and waited for Christmas as it was my wife that 'gave' it to me for the holiday. Without any calibrating, I was pleasantly surprised. HDR and Full Array Dimming are great for my expectations. I'm very happy with the picture quality. It is true that Vizio's SmartCast is slow and laggy, but I use Apple TV for everything I watch and PS4 for gaming. I'm hardly in the SmartCast menu. I also enjoy using my phone for both ATV and Vizio's menu system. We got this TV on a price match. Also bought the 5 year warranty as this TV has some reported issues. Best Buy made the entire process very smooth. I have zero regrets with this TV.

I've had this TV for more than 4 years, and it's been working great. We've enjoyed it, watching countless movies and playing numerous games on it. It's given us a lot of fun! The picture quality is also great. I really think it is of a great value considering its picture quality!

Excellent picture on Calibrated mode out of the box after trying all settings over 24 hours. Overall very happy for 899. Used a sound bar but speakers were more than adequate. This 2018 Does include a tuner* and HDMI arc which can be important for some. Would recommend to a friend, this is my 3rd vizio. While I am sure better can be had, I like the price and they all seem to last and keep me happy.

    Fantastic Picture

I spent hours online trying to learn about the different TV brands and new technologies available since it had been 12 years since I bought my last TV. I was mostly looking at Sony, Samsung and LG and wasn’t really even considering Vizio. However, when I went to look at TVs in the store, this 70 inch Vizio really stood out. Its picture looked as good as other brands costing twice as much. I am very happy that I bought this Vizio. The picture is fantastic. Movies and TV shows look great. Sports look great. Motion is smooth. Sure, you can spend a lot more money on a TV that may be technically better when measured by experts. But why would you when the pictures look virtually the same to the average viewer? If you do buy this TV, be sure to switch through all of the picture modes available to find the one that you like best. This TV comes factory pre-set to Standard Mode which is the energy saving mode and is probably not the best of the modes available. I personally like the Calibrated Mode. Vizio really got it right with this TV. I highly recommend it.

I'm running this TV off antenna channels for now, I dont have cable :/. My old E60 if you press info twice it will give you your channel list so you can scroll to what you want to watch. This TV does not have a guide! Ive tried everything and researched online, nothing. You have to press channel up or down and are forced to go through every channel to get to the one you want which takes forever. This is very annoying and almost makes me want to return the TV. So Vizio if there's a channel guide, comment on this and tell me how to get to it so we can all know. If there is no guide, please say so. I recently bought an LG 65" 6090PUA and that TV has a fantastic channel guide for antenna use just like cable. The picture is good. But the whole smartcast and stuff is bizarre. Normal TVs turn on and go right to TV mode. You turn this on and it goes straight to smart mode. You have to press input and scroll to TV to get out of the smart mode every time. My E60 you can just press exit. This TV took almost a half hour to go through it's cycles and set itself up. I dont know if it was my internet's fault, but the LG set up lightning quick compared to this on the same internet. I guess if you want to watch movies or do gaming, this TV is good. Put a TV guide in it and make TV the priority when you turn it on not smart mode, and you'll have a nice TV. If you're juggling on what to get, get the LG competitive one.

Hello Johnny, this television does not have a guide feature for the antenna as most devices customer connect to the television have their own built in guide. The television should turn on to the last input being used. If this is not occurring please contact our customer support at 877-878-4946 for assistance with your television. VIZIO

We LOVE our 70" Vizio TV!!! <3 The picture has great color and clarity. Works really well with Blue Ray. I like how it shuts off on it's own when we fall asleep and that you can control it with your Iphone even from the other side of the house. I bought this TV during the Labor Day sale for $799. I was happy with the price for a TV of this size. You probably wouldn't need a TV any larger than this one. You also can't beat the free delivery!! Best Buy worked with me over the phone to have it delivered on a particular day. Guarantee you will be happy and ready for football season!! :)

Picture is very good, sound is poor. Speakers face out behind TV toward the wall so if you mount it sound is especially bad. TV comes calibrated very well for color, contrast, etc. I spent a week trying to get a better picture by playing with the settings and finally figured out about the only thing you might want to change would be the setting that controls the black level. I did do some research between the bigger name brands and then went to ratings.com and this Visio was the smart pick. Not disappointed.

Had older 70 3d Vizio, beautiful picture. Bought this one on sale for 749. 18 days ago. Didn't get much play time unit this weekend. I hated it. Was ready to return until i looked at return policy, 15 days. picture looked dry, no color compared to other TV. Until I calibrated it, changed settings now its putting out a beautiful picture. Change settings for better picture people. Gave 4 stars due to the pain and suffering it took me to get here.

Nice quality for the price. I prefer to use the XBox One with this tv while my teenagers prefer to just use the apps loaded on the tv, itself. Best Buy mounted it quickly and professionally and it looks great in the room. Also found it useful to cast apps from a phone, like Pandora. Don't regret the purchase at all.

Great Picture and Performance - Smartcast Weak

I would have given the TV five stars if it had something improved over Smartcast. Number one it is buggy. It often does not start up properly (usually hangs) and you have to mess with it to bring it up. The second thing is the apps are very limited. I switched to not using it at all and using the XBox One X for content. A Roku or Apple TV really is a necessity.

We just got a new E-series Vizio 70 inch TV. After it was delivered it took about an hour to get everything hocked up and working. It replaced our old 70 Vizio and I will have to say the 4K picture is amazing. I hope it holds up as good as the other 70 and the smaller ones we have that still work fine.
