Really bad picture quality even after playing with the settings, researching how to use the settings properly, switching from the PS4 to the PS5/different inputs/different sources AND even hardwiring our internet and the picture quality still sucks. We will be returning this tv. It’s a bit our fault for not deeply researching the tv before buying but we were excited by the Black Friday. It is not worth it! It’s too bright and in a bad way.

Poor image quality + poor sound

Good size and easy to set up. My complaints are on the image quality. It is a bit grainy off and on and the overall picture quality is fair to poor. When I watch the same show from my Hulu account on another TV the image is life like, very detailed. On this Vizio, the image seems flat and grainy. Not much detail. The sound is also very flat and lacks life, you will definitely need a sound bar or other home theater speaker set up.

Hello Dbbarnes2, at VIZIO we pride ourselves on our highly rated picture quality. Sites like CNet, RTings, and Reviewed.com consistently rate VIZIOs picture quality among the best in the industry. To make sure you’re getting the most out of you VIZIO TV, we’d recommend making sure your devices are connected with an HDMI cable, and that you’re getting an HD (or UHD) signal. You can also individually adjust your picture settings in the menu. For brighter rooms try using the Vivid or Calibrated setting, for darker rooms try ‘Calibrated Dark’. If you’d like any assistance adjusting these settings, our customer support team would love to help you dial in the TV to your preference, you can reach them at 844-254-8087.

Vizio Underperforming TV

Inconsistent audio/visual performance and poor customer service to resolve issues when reported. TV/Remote freezes regularly, and unable to navigate when changing channels or moving from app to app. The solution requires turning on and off the TV until it works. Quite an embarrassing experience especially when entertaining guests.

We’ve had this TV in our living room for about a week now, and we are very pleased with it. Smart TVs like this one nowadays come with access to several streaming services, and this one is no different, with the remote control including dedicated buttons for Peacock, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Crackle, and Tubi. Our previous TV also had several buttons like this on its remote. To me, this is not all that signficant because, even if the TV itself does not come with some of these services built in, it’s no issue at all to add them with a device such as a Roku (which we have) or something similar.
To my mind, what matters in televisions is what has always mattered in televisions right from the beginning in the late 1940s, and that’s picture quality. Regarding this TV, the picture quality is nothing short of stunning, but more about that in a moment.
First, unlike TVs of the 1940s, modern smart TVs do require some setup. In the case of this Vizio, this was generally no problem after one minor hiccup. The first thing the TV has you do is log into your home wireless network. After that, it automatically connects to the Vizio servers to check for firmware updates. In my case, it found updates and started to download them, but then the process stalled, and even after waiting a half-hour, the progress bar didn’t move. I powered down the TV and then turned it back on, but the problem recurred.
So I went to the Vizio website and did a quick chat with a service technician, and she had me do hard reset of the TV, which entailed powering it off, unplugging it, holding down the power button on the TV (took me two minutes to find that!—it’s along the bottom on the far left side) for five seconds, and then plugging the TV back in and powering it on. Like before, it went straight to the update process (the TV remembered which network it had been logged into even after the hard reset), but this time the process completed without a problem, and the rest of the setup completed without a hitch as well.
Which brings us back to the picture quality, and, as I noted above, the picture quality on this TV is outstanding. This is the largest flat-screen TV we’ve owned (at 70 inches diagonal, it’s five inches larger than our previous TV). I’m sure that the mere size of the image has something to do with the perceived picture quality, but there’s no getting around that the picture here is simply beautiful. It is bright, sharp, crisp, even vibrant, and I’m typically one who finds the factory pre-set picture modes (“movie,” “bright,” “game,” etc.) way too bright in terms of the color level.
I set the “user” color, tint, brightness, etc. to a fairly well toned-down set of settings. In my opinion, the best way to set the color level is to tune into a golf tournament and set the color level so that the grass is a dull, pale green. So often it comes across as a kelly green in the factory preset modes. Do this, and the other colors tone down properly as well. The picture quality is so nice on this TV that I found myself channel surfing around just to watch something so that I could enjoy the picture, even if I wasn’t all that interested in the program that was on!
The TV has four HDMI inputs, which is handy for us as we have four devices to attach (two streaming devices, a DVD player, and the satellite TV box). The remote is one of those simple ones, which are becoming more commonplace these days, with just a handful of buttons and a left-right-up-down controll ring with an “OK” button in the middle. It does have a “mute” button which, in my opinion, after the power switch, is the most important button a TV remote can have.
If you’re looking for a large-screen TV, and this one does take up some wall space, you won’t go wrong with this Vizio. I’m watching it now as I write this!

I am going to have to return this product as I have had to unplug it daily just to watch anything, It will not play anything on Peacock. And if I don’t unplug it and plug it back in daily it won’t play anything. My remote voice stopped working as well even though it is connected to Wi-Fi. I’ve called the Total Tech and ended up hanging up 1: The guy could not speak English 2: he kept wanting to set up a return instead of providing tech support. Pointless.

Longevity and Durability
After three years of consistent use, the VIZIO M7 Series 70" 4K QLED Smart TV has been a durable and reliable TV. The build quality has held up well, and the TV still looks as sleek and modern as it did on day one. This speaks to the product's longevity and its ability to withstand the test of time.
Display Performance Over Time
The QLED HDR display continues to impress with its vibrant colors and sharp contrast. I cant tell the difference between my friend “new” TV vs mine. However, OLED TV are looking pretty good. I will wait prices to come down and maybe see when Vizio will get there.
Smart Features and Software Updates
After 3 years of using VIZIO M7 Series it has pretty consistent software support. The SmartCast platform isnt the best or the worst just works. I have seen overtime its been slowing down or I’m just use to things going faster.
Audio Quality and External Devices:
While the built-in speakers have held up decently. Its good enough for the family to listen in. However, I do have a sound bar with a sub woofer that fills the room. Connecting the sound bar was pretty simple.
Connectivity and Ports:
HDMI and USB ports continue to function well, accommodating a range of devices without any noticeable issues. The TV's Wi-Fi connectivity has remained stable, however might need to upgrade toe Wifi 6e or 7 as more devices are used.
Value Retention
Three years in, the VIZIO M7 Series 70" 4K QLED Smart TV still represents good value for money. While newer models may have newer features to me a TV is just to watch.
Conclusion
The VIZIO M7 Series 70" 4K QLED Smart TV has proven to be a reliable and enduring investment for home entertainment .
