Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the E-Series 70" Class TV's excellent picture quality and affordable price. Many are first-time owners of such a large screen TV and are very pleased. Setup is easy, and the smart TV features make streaming movies simple. While the remote control is small and the TV is heavy, these drawbacks are minor compared to the pros.

below average
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is ok at best, black, dark scenes look bad. Sound goes off when channel is changed a few times in a row. Had to turn tv off and on again to get sound balanced to time when people speak. Heard good things about it before purchasing it but tv was not up to par with recommendation. Could not calibrate settings very much to improve picture quality either.

it is a nice price point tv.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, not a bad TV just disappointed in the picture and sound quality. My plasma had a way better picture. It was an inexpensive tv so you get what you pay for I guess.

Best priced 70" TV.

great size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stay away from this monster. Save you money and buy the M series. This is a extremely low quality product. The picture is terrible its bulky with a wobbly stand and worst of all it buzzes like a bug lamp and as hot as a heat lamp. I returned it after 2 days to get the M Series much better quality.

Can't beat what you get for the price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV 1 week ago and I absolutely love it! My concerns before purchasing were not getting 240hz and that the stand was flimsy according to other reviews. I have not noticed any issues with it only being 120hz and the stand does not seem flimsy to me at all. The picture quality when watching a movie in 1080p is fantastic. I was unsure of the remote at first because the qwert keyboard didn't seem to work well. I realized my front fingers were covering up the sensor when i was typing. Once I figured this out it worked just fine. My only complaint is when you get outside of about a 30 degree angle, the picture quality goes away. This isn't too big of an issue for me because of how my room is set up. I would definitely recommend this product.

Fantastic Monster of a TV!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before this TV I had a 60 inch Sony that was 3D and 240 Hz. I don't really care about 3D and since I use this TV as my computer monitor I don't really need internet apps because I can just watch those through my comp. The other thing I will say is this... Look, if you are buying a TV this size and are complaining about the sound you're clueless. A surround sound amplifier system or at least a sound-bar is a given. Speakers on a TV this size are irrelevant and if you don't realize that then you have no business reviewing it let alone buying it. For me then, the only thing that matters is the picture and I was a little nervous that I wouldn't like dropping down to a 120 Hz but I was wrong. (Especially for the price) the picture on this TV is fantastic! In some of the darker scenes I notice a little bit of ghosting and I did see a slight stutter when James Bond got shot off the train (Skyfall) and the camera was following him down to the water. That is it and it was minimal - Coming from a guy who is used to 240 Hz Sony. The adjustments available on it are not quite as extensive as higher end models but they are definitely enough to be able to tweak the picture to the way you like it. As a gamer I also like the game preset and game mode. I love the picture quality (darks, lights, and vibrant colors) I love the TV, and I love that we went with this Vizio! I've only had it for about a month so I can't really speak to longevity or vouch for screen failure etc. But I will update if needed. To this point though, I couldn't be happier.

Absolutely incredible TV ... once it's calibrated
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had been mulling around until I decided to splurge and go for the 70 inch instead of the 60. The downer is that once you get it home, it does not resemble the picture you drooled over in the store. I scoured the internet for days trying to find the best picture settings and all i came up with was CNet's suggestion which, in my opinion, was good, but incredibly dark. With a big LED like this, I expect the colors to pop and the picture to be bright! What it came down to was having to call tech support which put me through to Geek Squad who told me that since I was a Premier Silver member, I was able to receive one in-home service per year. Definitely a big plus being that TV calibration from Geek Squad costs a ridiculous $250 if you aren't Premier Silver. Needless to say, they did manage to come out and adjust the picture to my liking with their calibration. As everyone should know, the calibration was done to adhere to my environment, which is just a standard basement with a sliding glass door. Not too dark, not too bright. Just average. I'd like to be the nice guy and share the calibration settings with you so hopefully...if you have a similar environment...you don't have to waste $250 for calibrating a television that cost you almost $2000. Excellent TV, for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a big fan of Vizio, for the past 6-7 years...I have owned 8 Vizio tv's!!..When I saw they had a 70" coming out, I knew I had to have it!.. That being said, I was not happy with the picture quality, right out of the box..It took me a while (about 3 hours) to calibrate it to my liking..It doesn't have a ton of calibrating tools, but enough for the casual enthusiast...That being said, the picture quality does improve after the break in period ( I saw improvement after 25-30 hours)..I sit about 10 feet away from the screen and I'm happy with the picture quality now...Its not as great/sharp as some of the more expensive models, but in this price range and size, you're not going to get any better!!..I'm also pretty impressed with the sound of this tv, especially for being an LED. I use my surround sound for the most part, but its refreshing to hear an LED tv sound good, on its own..It has a lot of sound settings, including a nice equalizer.. One downfall is the angle viewing.Your best bet, is to be sitting no more than at couch width...I have an armchair on the side of my room and as soon as I move out of the " sweet spot" the color really washes out..Overall, I'm very satisfied with this tv and happy that I bought it!!..Keep it up Vizio!!..Cant wait for the 70" 3D model!!!

Very Good 70 inch but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to give my honest opinion about my purchase of this 70 inch Vizio. First let me say this is probably the best 70 inch for the price-point. However, it is not the best 70 inch Best Buy carries. I enjoy watching this TV in my basement. The picture is a perfect size for my basement. It does not have a pixelation problem like most TVs this size. It connects well, I didn't have the "lip-sync" problem other reviewers noted. It is attractive as far as bezel and outer qualities. I have Samsung, LG, Toshiba (all LEDs) in my house. This TV is the weakest link. Vizio for some reason always has this "washed out" color compared to other top brands. I have had to tweak it alot and can't seem to find the perfect calibration. It plays Blu-Rays very well and HD chanels look good also. It it is terrible on non HD channels. I MEAN TERRIBLE. I'm not overly excited about apps on my TV because every other device I have are smart devices, so I have no use for them on my TV. The sound is tolerable but I have and sound bar for that. Don't get me wrong it is a good TV for 70 inches and a $1699 price. But if you can afford it, look at the Sharp Quattron 70 inch or Vizio's new 70 inch M series with 3D features, they seem to express better picture quality. I'm not knocking this TV at all, I just don't think it is worthy of a 5 star review. But I still would feel comfortable recommending it.

Unbelievable Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went from 52" LCD to this 70" LED. Increased size really helps enjoyment of movies and sports. (I've had it two weeks) Picture quality is very good. Presets for picture are plentiful but you can fine-tune (see CNET review of 60" version) Easy to pair with sound system (recommended to make the experience complete). Not a knock on Vizio, all TV sound, IMHO, is just physically limited due to flat screens. Remote with keyboard is nice, though you have to be careful to point it correctly since it's infrared. No browser (that's why we have computers/iPads isn't it?), but a plentiful selection of apps if you so choose. All the major players. My 5th Vizio TV purchase. Very happy with the brand (obviously).

WOW!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't be happier with this choice. I've had this TV for 2 weeks, and so far so good. This is my first LCD TV (aside from a computer monitor#, and it's like a whole new world of TV. Set up was a breeze. I've yet to buy a router so I can hook this up to the Internet, but that looks pretty easy and straightforward too. I was able to remove the TV from the box and install the base myself, then move it upright without a problem, but I did need help to pick it up and set it on the newly purchased stand. Just too heavy and bulky to do alone. The size of this TV is perfect for the room I have it in. It is 15 feet from my viewing position, and a vast improvement over the 53" rear projection TV it replaces. I especially like that this TV can be viewed in any lighting conditions, day or night. There is a window to the side of the TV, but the glare doesn't bother viewing at all. At night, there is a lamp behind my viewing position that would clearly reflect off my old TV, but on this Vizio it is barely noticable at all. A lower wattage bulb will fix this entirely. The only problem I've noticed since installing this TV is a strange one - once in awhile, the audio and video go slightly out of sync, and it happens both during live TV or while watching a recording from the DVR. I didn't notice this with the old TV, but don't think it has anything to do with the new one, since when I switch to audio from the TV's speakers #HDMI cable is connected to TV from cable box#, the problem goes away, but comes back when I switch back to audio from the home theater. Will have to do a bit of research to figure out this annoying problem. I'm using an optical cable from the cable box to the home theater ...... perhaps I need a new cable.

Excellent price for the size.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This set replaces my 50" Sony which I think has an excellent picture but I did not lose picture quality with this set ,the colors are just as bright & vibrant, the picture is huge & clear, no fuzziness, ready to go out of the box with minimal adjustment. We do have an existing surround sound system so I can't comment on the sound quality. This set is very, very heavy so you need a solid heavy duty & stable TV stand & a couple of big men to set it in place. I love this for all sports especially football you feel your on the sidelines. With HDMI cables the setup was a cinch. I highly recommend this set for the price.
