I was looking for a larger TV to replace our 50" without investing a lot of money knowing that most of these larger TVs will likely come down in price in the next few years, so I had originally purchase the Sharp Aquos, which had an awesome picture, but the sound quality was so terrible, that without a sound bar or surround sound tha even the price or picture quality made it worth keeping. Fortunately for me, I had just purchased a Samsung sound bar at Christmas. Unfortunatley, after several attempts to hook this up and a call to to Sharp, I was told that my sound bar was incompatible and would not work with this TV. I loaded it up that day and exchanged it for the Vizio 70" which was the same price and was a very close second choice when I was making the original purchase. The only issue I encountered during the setup was with the mounting stand. Be very careful if you are using this to ensure you have a straight vantage point. I would recommend using 3 people. Two to lift the TV upside down and hold it, while the other screws the base on. I stripped 2 of the three screws. I will assume that this was me, but I have certainly used a screwdriver for the better part of my life and this was too easy to do with this TV, so be extremely careful if your using the base. I was now forced to wall mount my TV. Back to Best Buy for the thrid time to buy a wall mount. I purchased the Sansus Wall mount that could take TVs up to 84". Very easy to install, and sturdy againstt the wall, but it is very unsturdy with the bracket holding the TV. I would have expected a bit more support from this wall mount since they advertise the size up to 84". After getting everything up and in a position, I was fairly impressed with my purchase. The TV was easy to setup with internet connection and satellite receiver. I like the 4 HDMI ports and the remote is pretty cool. There is a bit of a glare issue, but nothing I can't live with for the next couple years and for $1500.00 I still dont think I could have gone wrong for a 70" TV.

This was a great purchase. Room was a bit small for a projector so this was perfect and AMAZING for the price. Remote has full keyboard, but i stream through my PS4 so i don't know about Smart features (sorry) Best settings: Press the Menu button, then select Picture and press OK. Picture Mode: Standard Backlight: 88 (anything you want - this is the total brightness of the screen) Brightness: 50 (this setting will affect other settings. Backlight does NOT affect other settings) Contrast: 80 Color: 60 Tint: 0 Sharpness: 5 Select "More" at the bottom and press OK. Select "Color Temperature" and press OK. Color Temperature: Normal ** I did not change the values below, they were all 128 by default for the "Normal" setting. ** Red Gain: 128 Green Gain: 128 Blue Gain: 128 Red Offset: 128 Green Offset: 128 Blue Offset: 128 Press the Back button on the remote. Select "Advanced Picture" and press OK. Smooth Motion Effect: Off Real Cinema Mode: Smooth Noise Reduction: Low MPEG NR: Low Color Enhancement: Normal Adaptive Luma: Medium Film Mode: Off Backlight Control: DCR Ambient Light Sensor: Off (This will change the Backlight intensity based on how much light is in your room at the moment. If you like that idea, turn it on after you finalize your settings. You may or may not like it afterward.)

I had a 50" Vizio Plasma I bought before anyone knew what Vizio was and told everyone about the great picture and price of the brand. Since then my entire family has bought Vizio and is exactly why I went back to them for this TV. I wouldn't even look at other brands, esp. for the price and quality of this TV. Excellent picture quality! I turned a movie on Netflix and my fiancee said "it's almost like they are right here" Picture is crisp and clear. Had it on for a good 7 hours and barely puts off any heat as well. My plasma was almost like a space heater. Don't pass up this deal on this TV! CNET has a review on this TV and in there they put together a list of what settings to change to make it look just right, worked like a charm.

Did a lot of research and by far this is the best 70" you can get for the money. Didn't think I sacrificed anything. New TV looks amazing. New slim design looks great. Much thinner frame than the 65". I bought the Rocketfish tilt mount for TV's up to 70 inches. It worked perfectly because I was able to hang the TV first, then angle the tv to attach hdmi cables. Internet reception is fast and download times for Netflix is almost instant! Remote is really cool too.

I just "downsized" from a 72" Toshiba DLP to this Vizio 70" but size-wise you can't tell the difference especially since the bezel on the Vizio is very slim. The major difference is the incredible picture you get from the Vizio. The Toshiba had a very decent picture but nothing compared to the Vizio. I did however make some adjustments to the settings to suit my taste. The colors are vivid and the picture is bright and sharp. The sound is not home theater quality, although decent, but that's not an issue with me because the television is connected to my Klipsch home theater. I popped in Avatar in my Samsung Blu-Ray and I was totally blown away at the quality of the picture. Watching that movie on the Toshiba did not do it any justice. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this television to anyone looking to upgrade their home theater experience without breaking the bank.

I am very happy with my Vizio 70". Got it for $1599, which is exactly what I paid for a 54" 3 years ago. The side view washes out really badly at any angle over 40 degrees, but that is acceptable based on the price of the set. I did not want to spend $3000 on a large screen TV. I have a sound bar, so don't have any opinion on the sound quality. The set sits so low that my sounbar blocks about 2" of the screen, so I am going to put together a 3" high black frame to set the TV up on to eliminate this situation. I highly recommend this set - we sit 17 feet from the screen and what a difference between 54" and 70"!!! My son made out like a bandit because his TV recently broke and he is now going to be the owner of a 54" LG which is still in great condition. Another amazing thing is that this set weighs 81 lbs and the 54" weights 79 lbs. What are the odds that they could build this so huge and keep the weight down like this. Did buy a 5 year extended warranty - have discovered to my dismay that electronics and appliances don't always last as long as you would hope. This Vizio is HIGHLY recommended by me.

We had been looking to upgrade our aging 55" rear-projection TV to a more slim, modern look, plus a bigger screen size. Got an email from Best Buy about a TV sale, and we found this one to be a great buy, fits our needs perfectly! We have a large open living room, distance from primary seating to the screen is about 16 feet, so a 70" model was just right. We hung it on the wall at eye level and the installation looks clean and neat. When we watch TV nowadays, it's more like being at the movies Product was easy to get up and running, plenty of extra connections for other products, but with the wi-fi ability and Netflix, etc., we don't have to hook up anything else to it. Just enjoying it immensely! Even though it has great sound quality, I run my Comcast cable through a Bose LifeStyle28 Surround Sound System, so my sound experience with this TV is absolutely primo!

I purchased this TV about a week ago. I'm very impressed with the picture quality. My previous TV was a 50in Panasonic plasma which has a great picture, but this Vizio LED is far superior. When properly calibrated ( I found several settings online) the picture quality is absolutely amazing. I find that movies and TV shows take on a 3D like depth perception with bright colors and contrasts . Best TV I have owned.

I was in the market for a big TV, I already have a 55" upstairs, but I wanted this one to have that extra "wow" factor. 70" is a nice big screen, I looked at the 80" screens but the prices were very high. This TV had a great price and a very nice size...but I was concerned about the brand. Not really liking the Vizio brand much, i was hesitant. But it was getting better reviews than a similar Sharp and Best Buy has a great return policy so I figured I would try it out. The picture is bright and vivid, this TV is great and even works well with Harmony remotes. It does not have discrete on/off, but does have discrete inputs. Great TV.

Not using the speakers as I play sound through a HT system. Setup was very fast and easy, up and running in 15-20 min. Great WIFI reception, TV is in a basement, WAP is on the second floor. Great picture.

I bought this tv on Friday march 1st. I am very impressed. I can't believe this tv is so cheap. The picture is amazing and my friends are going to get this tv before it goes off sale. Worth every penny!

This is a great 70" TV for the price. The speakers could use a little bit of a tweak, but the picture quality is great. And while the internet apps are a bit outdated, they suffice. I've connected mine to an Apple TV anyways so that wasn't a huge con.

This is a wonderful TV. I had a Samsung 50" plasma before and was very hesitant to buy a Vizio because it is known as a value brand. I love my plasma, but it was too small and reflective for my new living room. I saw this Vizio go on sale for $1600 and had to jump. I am not disappointed at all. It has great color accuracy and performs awesome in bright rooms. According to all online reviews it has a relatively light black level, but from what I can see unless you are a videophile or pro you won't notice. It looked great while watching The Dark Knight Rises. I also love the fact that I wasn't forced to pay for 3D when I know I would never use that feature. Bottom line, if you want a really big screen and a great price jump on this TV while it is still on sale.

I have only had this set for a couple of weeks but find the quality of picture to be excellent. The on set manual helps quite a bit in working out features. Internet connection is another thing as it ask for a network password that I never created and cannot get by that!

We ordered out TV online along with a protection plan. The TV was delivered in a timely manner. Easy to mount on to wall with two people assist. The picture is awesome sound is great with a sound bar or audio system. The smart TV components are a great added feature to be able to connect and stream Netflix movies. Awesome buy !

For the price u can't find better, I owned a samsung 60 inch and the picture was clearer but 500 dollars more not worth it, I'd rather have 10 more inches, it's still 1080 p so that's all that matters . Good buy.

Amazing picture I would purchase this TV again in a second I was scared of the low price but it is great I cant say enough good things about it.

Pic is not as clear as a 4k for sure but for a lot less money.

I read the reviews before purchasing this TV. Almost everyone said it had great picture quality, but no one mentioned that the blacks aren't that black, and worst of all, they aren't anywhere close to being uniform. I'd be okay with the blacks not being very black since I paid hundreds less than the next closest TV. However, I was upset when the picture was very splotchy in dark scenes in a dimmed room. The picture doesn't look bad in a well lit room. If you want the best picture quality, stick with one of the TVs in the Best Buy Magnolia line. I'd recommend either a Samsung or a Sony over a Visio.
