False 4k TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV thinking it was a steal for a 4k tv but I was wrong! From the moment I connected it and turned it on, the quality was horrible!! I adjusted the setting so many times and went on so many different sites to help me adjust the sitting, yet it just didn't do anything to fix the picture!! I understand that 4k isn't out yet for mainstream but what about this so called 1080p that runs on 240hz??!? The quality wasn't there! I even tried it on my blueray and still it sucked!! I couldn't sleep thinking this was a mistake! I ending up returning it and bought a LG 4k and paid the difference. My advise to all of you, check it out in the store before you buy it and read the reviews or you'll end up waiting in line to return it!

Ok at best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the 65" tv for about a week but eventually exchanged it for the comparable LG. My biggest compliant was with the active LED zones. They were slow and way too noticeable turning on and off. When A character is standing in an otherwise back scene, the haloing was just horrible. The edge-lit LG isn't perfect but much better performing when blacks are concerned. Also, I couldn't the color on the Vizio right no matter how much time I spent with various calibration methods. The LG was much more vibrant and accurate. These are all issues that Vizio can (and may already have) fix with a software update. But at the time I had to make my decision, the LG was the clear choice.

Not satisfied with either the product or service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV has shadows. Vizio is replacing it but taking too long. Best buy customer service was not helpful at all. Also, the ladies at counter behaved as if a thief has entered as soon as I talked about returning the tv on 16th day of purchase.

Great picture.. bad panel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hoped that the Vizio would have worked out. The picture was great but had some banding issues. Then on day 3, It got a crescent shaped shadow about a foot long. Had to return it...

Excellent after update and calibration
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When you first get this set, make sure to update the firmware. How to update: Internet connected Vizio televisions perform regular checks for software updates and should require no user interaction. However, if a P-Series owner wishes to 'force' a check for software updates, follow this procedure: Go to MENU > System > System Information > Service Check > press 'OK' > select 'Yes' to perform update check. Then turn TV off and wait at least 20 minutes for the update cycle to complete. (You'll hear the TV power cycle itself a few times if you're in a quiet room). Users have commented that while it is possible to force the TV to check for a software update, a serial number system used by Vizio determines when a particular TV receives the updated software. Once you're on the latest version of software (1.1.14 as of 1/26/2015), it's time to calibrate it. These are the best settings I have tried: Start with the Calibrated Dark picture mode, then begin editing. Auto Brightness Control = Off Backlight = 22 (Use what works for your lighting conditions!) Brightness = 48 Contrast = 51 Color = 45 Tint = 0 Sharpness = 0 Color Temp = Normal Active LED Zones = On Black Detail = Off Smooth Motion Effect = Off (Soap Opera Effect Generator) Clear Action = Off Reduce Signal Noise = Off Game Low Latency = On (There is a bug that causes a strip at the top of the screen to become corrupted when switching between inputs with Game Mode on, simply toggling it off by changing your video mode to another and then back will resolve it.) Gamma = 2.4 Color Tuner Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow Hue = 0, 0, -18, 0, 2, -2 Saturation = 0, 0, 14, 0, 8, 7 Brightness = 8, 10, 20, 5, 6, -1 Offset = -1, 0, 2 Gain = -3, -6, -1 11 Point White Balance Gain = Red, Green, Blue 5% = -2, -2, -2 10% = 23, 19, 6 20% = 26, 21, 2 30% = 27, 25, 14 40% = 23, 27, 13 50% = 20, 26, 10 60% = 10, 18, 2 70% = 8, 20, 2 80% = 0, 18, 1 90% = -10, 10, -2 100% = -16, 12, -4 Once you're done, you cannot save this calibration under a new name due to a bug with the software. If you save under a new name, you'll lose the special dimming effect only available when editing from Calibrated Dark, and the calibration will be off. Load up Netflix, and start streaming some Ultra HD! Blacklist is my current favorite. If you don't see a 4K / Ultra HD option, go to Netflix.com/changeplan and upgrade to the 4 streams, $11.99 per month plan. Good luck and enjoy the best valued 4K display on the market.

Amazing and affordable Ultra HD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is awesome 5 HDMI ports with the 5th one being HDMI 2.0 for future UHD devices. TV has all the features you would expect from a smart tv including apps and wifi connectivity. All my game consoles(Ps3, ps4, xbox 360, xbox 1, Wii U) look great on this tv as well. Sound through built in speakers is just ok. I highly recommend a sound bar or receiver system. I was able to setup this TV by myself after delivery as the TV weighs only about 60 lbs. The TV does initially feature some motion artifacts and weird issues with the dimming zones, but I can say after adjusting the picture to my liking via the picture menu I have gotten rid of all those weird picture issues. I personally reduced the backlight from 100 to 70, turned black level detail to high, and smooth motion effect to off or low. Picture is much much better compared to other reviewers here who just opened the box and expected it to be perfect. I was able to easily connect to wifi and register my tv through the setup interface. The remote has a backlit keyboard which makes signing into netflix, amazon, and youtube a breeze. I have played some UHD sample videos that I downloaded from VIZIO's site on the TV and the detail is amazing. It sucks that there isnt more UHD content out there yet. Netlix and Amazon has some UHD shows and movies and are adding more and more by them month.

Awesome Set
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one outstanding television set. The picture is great right out of the box, but having it calibrated really maximizes its potential. I applied some calibration settings posted over at avsforum.com, and WOW. What a difference! The colors pop, the action is smooth, and the black levels are outstanding. But let's address the real strength of this set: 4K. In a word, superb. The Blacklist and House of Cards look simply stunning on this, and it almost appears as if the action is happening live, right in front of you. The detail is sharp and crisp, and the uniformity and balance are breathtaking. All in all, I have owned a number of televisions from many different manufacturers, and I will say that this television outshines them all. It truly is a marvelous set. If Vizio intends to surpass the competition by making a better television at much more affordable prices, then they are well on their way. There are some cons to the television, however. The sound, for one thing, from the set's speakers is bad. Yet, if one is able to afford a $2,200 television, then they can certainly afford some outside component speakers or a sound bar. Also, the stand, although strong, is a bit wobbly. I don't think that the set is in danger of tipping over, but it does appear a bit wonky. Mounting it on the wall, of course, would eliminate this, but for those of us who opt to use its stand, the wobbly nature of the mount can be distracting. In all, though, this is a marvelous television that offers an amazing picture at an amazing price. If you have the opportunity, I would absolutely suggest picking one up.

Wonderful Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We did a great deal of research before buying this television. We originally thought that Sony or Samsung were the best. We went to the store and were able to compare the picture on the three we were considering and were blown away by the quality of the picture the Vizio had. When we compared the prices and sizes of the Sony and the Samsung we knew we had to go with the 65" Vizio. It is like looking through a pane of glass and the setup was so easy. We love it!

Great tv for the Price. PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Tv once you update the firmware via click service check under system and leave tv off for an hour after clicking. NOTE: do not turn on for an hour. your firmware should be 1.4 after update. This Tv took place of my 2010 LG 55" full 1080p LCD and I will say this there is about a 50% improvement . The color stands out. The jagged you get around white letters are smooth. its just a really nice picture. There where complaints about blurry pictures and tracers, But after update it fixed a lot of that also make sure to educate yourself on all the advance setting it helps to know. I will say this if you own a PS4 its gonna look freaking awesome even better then my old LCD (HDMI 1). It took me 4 months 20 forums back and forth between Samsung, LG and Vizio. for the price you can't go wrong. The only thing I hope with all newer tv's is lasting at least 5 years like my other tv. I also own a Vizio 60" LED tv.

pure junk
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vizio is pure junk. 4K is pure junk do not waste your money . The picture jitter is all over the place. If 4K content which we do not have it would work. By a name brand 1080p and forget 4K unless using as a computer monitor . Works great for a monitor but nothing else. Bought a Samsung 7150 65inch 1080p like everything about it no looking back.

Great Picture, great features and a great value!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite not having 3D (we never watch any 3D content) the TV itself has a great crisp image, there is no noticable blur and the contrast is excellent. We compared this side by side with an LG and Samsung in store and were amazed how well it stacked up. In fact we actually like it better.Lastly, the remote is hands down the best side feature, having a full querty keyboard is much better than on screen keyboards.

awesome tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new 65 inch 4k vizio TV, the quality of this set is incredible. Although there's not much 4k content out there, if you have HD programming looks way better then a regular HDTV . There's some videos on YouTube you can watch on 4k. I love the remote , the full on keyboard on the back lights up every time you press any key. This tv really enhances movie night.

Very Happy with Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from. I'm thinking these issues are more from your cable provider than a defect with the TV. This TV is far superior to my 60" Sharp Aquos that I'm replacing. Setup was a breeze, and after doing the update the picture looks fantastic. Now I wouldn't have paid the full retail price due to limited 4K content at this time, but the sale price made this unit a no brainer. Connected this beast to my Sonos playbar and the sound is incredible too. This unit passes the 5.1 through the optical cable which most TVs do not. If you plan on connecting a sound bar or Sonos playbar in the future, this is a very important thing to know. My research only show Vizio, Sony, and Toshiba offering the 5.1 pass-through.

Amazing 4K UHDTV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Last year I purchased an open box Vizio 50" M-Series 3D Smart TV from in store. At the time I was NOT a fan of Vizio products since I viewed them as bottom tier brands such as Westinghouse, Sanyo, TCL, etc. Since I wanted a new TV for my living room, I decided to give the nicely discounted M series a try, I was immediately impressed with the color and contrast accuracy of the display. After calibration the only better flat panel I've seen that's magnitudes better is the famed Panasonic VT60. So of course soon after buying that display and reading about Vizio's 4Ks at CES excited me. The 60" P Series arrived yesterday, the delivery crew went ahead and inspected the TV prior to delivery. After they left, I followed Buzzard's calibration settings from the AVS forums and setup the day and night settings. Immediately after, I've checked out Casino Royale on Blu Ray. The blacks were silky smooth on Bond's jacket on the opening sequence where everything is shot in black and white. The following scenes were equally impressive with brilliant colors and range. Next up is gaming, I've built a HTPC/Gaming pc with gtx 760 SLI graphics cards; unfortunately, those cards are not hdmi 2.0 compliant thus 4k at 60hz isn't possible until I get a GTX 970 or 980 or radeon R290x. However, at both 1920x1080P and 4k 30hz fonts are sharp and clear, with no major scaling artifacts. Honestly, it reminds me of the displays on a Retina Imac or a MS Suface Pro 3. Shadow of Mordor looks quite sharp with amazing contrast, and depth of field. The depth of field is so dramatic, it's almost like playing with a 3d display! Overall a MUCH BETTER experience then playing with either my 27" Asus monitor or my year old Vizio M Series which happens to be a 3d tv. A few important things to note, HDMI #5 is the only HDMI port that's HDMI 2.0. All other ports are HDMI 1.4 spec. Meaning all ports will provide 4k video, however, hdmi#5 will allow 4k at 60HZ. For me that's not a problem since the only device I have that's hdmi 2.0 compliant is my AV Receiver (Marantz SR5009) where that will give me an additional 7 HDMI 2.0 ports! I'm assuming most people shopping for 4K at this time will have upgrade plans or are in the process of upgrading various components in their home theater. Also, each version of the P series uses different display technology! BE WARNED! The 60" and 70" uses a VA panel, whereas the 55" and 65" sets have IPS Panels. The 50" may have either technology, thus make note of the model number. Unfortunately, on Vizio's website it appears they've copied and pasted the same specs for both 50" models listed. You may need to dig through the forums or call Vizio for the details. Essentially, IPS provides clearer wider off-axis viewing angles, and extremely accurate color gamut. However, contrast on IPS panels are not as good, thus not as well suited for low light viewing since you may get bleed and blooming. This will be well suited in a bright environment where you may look at the tv from the sides instead of dead on. VA panel versions provide better contrast and faster response, making it better suited for night time movie viewing, and games. Also reviews and settings for IPS versions of this tv cannot be directly compared to the VA versions. Personally I'm happy to have purchased the 60" version over the 65" because of my uses. I hope you find this helpful. Feel free to ask me questions if you have any!
