Good TV at a great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our first large TV purchase and we may have gotten too big for our family room. But the price was the same as the 60" at the time so it was hard to not go for it! Luv the 4k quality! House of cards looks amazing! The remote is very handy with the lighted keyboard on back- wish the front was lighted as well tho. The ability to hook up your computer for hi res gaming is also pretty cool. Only downside that is probably common for all large tvs- the gradient lines are very obvious in some scenes.

Amazing value - mediocre image quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was very excited to get this TV home - my first 4k after living with a wonderful 42" Pioneer Plasma for > 5 years. I like the minimal style of the television - thin bezels, barely there Vizio logo and a discreet stand. Appreciate the keyboard behind the remote. The excitement went south when I first turned ON the TV - horrible image quality, lots of artifacts around anything "black". Color was also very "OFF". I had read some forum reviews on image quality and knew that the new software and some calibration would help - but I did not expect it to be this bad. Hooked up a soundbar via HDMI ARC and was not able to get it to work. CRC would not recognize the device. After updating the software and tweaking some color calibration - image improved 90% However, it was not easy (almost impossible) to get accurate colors. And in most cases, there is no "POP" or character to the scene - very plain and desaturated. Ended up returning it. I really wanted to keep it as I liked the styling, ease and price - but the image quality ruined it for me.

Great 4K TV for Gamers, Early Adopters
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the 65" Vizio P to replace a 58" Samsung plasma (3-4 years old). My primary usage: live TV over the air, PC gaming, movies/shows on Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon Vide, Hulu Plus. I don't have cable or satellite. Having owned this and playing with this TV for 3 days, here are my observations: + 4K display is like retina display - awesome. Watching 4K content on it does for a leap forward. Currently all one can see is only a few shows and documentaries on Netflix, and you have to upgrade to Netflix's $11.99/month plan. Amazon Prime is coming soon, as are dedicated streaming 4K movies services. Will take a while for real 4K content. + Probably the best TV for gamers - period. It upscales 1080p games from PC to 4K and they look simply amazing. Input lag is very low (less than 20ms) on HDMI5 with low game latency mode that seems to have zero negative impact on picture quality. If you are a PC or console gamer looking for a large TV, get this one. It will make you squeal with joy. + 1080p upscaled to 4K from good sources (live TV, blu-ray, Apple TV shows) are like watching native on a 1080p display - no improvement. 1080p shows from Hulu Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Youtube etc look slightly less crispy than I remember, but I went to a larger TV so that could be the reason. + Lots of options for picture settings. You have to play around with yours to get the proper "punch" in the picture you are looking for. I am positive that Vizio may not be as good as some TV's that cost an extra $1000 or more, but I came from one of the best plasmas and I am love wi this set. I am still playing around with the settings, tweaking. - Minor annoyance - the local dimming is great as dark scenes are dark as coal while bright scenes are bright white, but you do see the zones getting lit up slightly around small bright spots. Also there is a delay (half second) in zones turning off after a bright spot scene. But you will not notice any of this during normal viewing or gaming - it will only show up if you are looking for it, like quickly moving a white mouse cursor around the screen rapidly on a black screen. + I have audio coming back to receiver via the HDMI1 port that supports ARC and that works well. I never use the TV speakers - they always are pretty bad, and I am sure Vizio is no exception. + This TV supports the fast wireless standard AC, faster than N. But I prefer using a wired ethernet connection. + Smart TV interface is simple (one button access to the usual suspects in streaming apps). + Remote has a keyboard on the back - nice. It lights up in the dark. + Did I tell you that this is the best TV for gamers? It is amazing to play multi-player games with seemingly no input lag, which improves your reaction time. + I got this at $1499 from Best Buy. What a steal.

Remote batteries lasted longer than TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The batteries for the remote are still going strong after two years. However a row of LED’s are burned out, now there is a black line that goes across the screen.

Best 4k TV for the money.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a Sony Bravia 52 inch LCD Tv 8 years ago and thought it was time to upgrade to a larger screen. If I was going to go to a standard 65 inch LED TV, I would need to spend $1500+. After looking at the 4k Ultra TV's I was sold that this technology would be the future of TV. I was excited to hear that Vizio was coming out with a new line of 4k TV's priced $500+ under the competition. I waited for my local Best Buy to get one in stock and raced over to get it. I am more than pleasantly happy with the quality of the picture from my cable box. It upscales the 1080i picture to above 1080p and makes the viewing experience unbelievable. It has flawlessly streamed UHD 4k content from Netflix and has made sports watching much more enjoyable. I would not hesitate to recommend this TV to anyone.

Amazing. Bad reviewers have bad 4k sources....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright. I'll start off by saying I spent weeks looking at UHD tvs. I'm relatively young and value/cost was my top priority. I was extremely wary about this tv when comparing it with a curved 55" Samsung and a 55" Sony with 3D. All 3 were within my price range of $1500 (black friday/cyber monday), and had good refresh rate. The few cheaper UHD tv's under $1000 have normal 60hz refresh rates which wouldn't be as great of an upgrade from 1080p. I was mainly worried about this one due to the slightly lower ratings here and a few really bad reviews of it online. A lot of people here are saying they see lots of pixelation, lighting, flickering, blurriness, etc. Despite all of that I went with it because my previous set was a Vizio 55" 1080p, and figured I better opt for the extra 10" of screen compared to that and the other UHD prospects I almost bought. Anyways, naturally, the first thing I did after setting it up with a friend was connect to wifi and give netflix a try. It looked great, however if I really focused on it I could pick out some discrepancies in the picture and in motion even after fiddling with the settings. Netflix 4k (Breaking Bad) looks amazing but some dark scenes have a minor flickering effect and the active zones are noticeable. Next I hooked up my gaming pc to the HDMI 5 input. WOW!!!!! Seriously. Amazing. Even compared to my 55" 1080p. With the refresh rate this tv makes games incredibly smooth and at 4k and ultra settings you won't believe the detail you can see. The 1080p upscaling has no issues and looks great too. No pixelation or flickering or artifacts at all like on Netflix 4k. Onto the next test... V for Vendetta on Blu-Ray from my computer: absolutely stunning and I noticed tons of little things I never knew were in the movie. Very smooth motion. Explosions were awesomely detailed. Black scenes were amazing. The contrast is great and things that are supposed to be black (for instance the black bars on top/bottom of screen during a movie) look just like the screen when the tv is off, not dark gray (unless you turn off active LED zones). One last test was the YouTube app built into the tv. 4k content looks amazing. You can start videos with YouTube on your phone if they share the same wifi. You can tell it's streaming, but it looks better than Netflix 4k. So overall the clarity and detail in this tv is exactly what I hoped for when upgrading to UHD. I'm convinced that the picture quality is extremely dependent on your source and unfortunately Netflix 4k and cable tv or anything streaming for that matter is going to look worse than any local content. Netflix already states that their 4k bit rate is to increase eventually, which tells me the current quality isn't at 100%. So don't worry about the naysayers on here. I believe their reviews are based only on poor quality video and not the tv itself. This tv really was a steal on black friday and against all odds I have no regrets after buying it.

Great tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The 4k picture is awesome. The up conversion to 4k is also great? I gave this a 4 star rating only because of the way the inputs are set up...on the underside of the back panel with two on the side (makes them a little difficult to get at). I use the 1st HDMI input with the ARC function. This ARC function works better than the Samsung that I replaced. When you switch to the smart apps it automatically switches to the correct audio input on my receiver (which the Samsung never did). I can't say enough about the picture quality. It's fantastic. Don't waist your money on Samsung or Sony or any of the other more expensive brands. Totally not worth it.

Get this NOW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok if you do all the research what you are going to look at is the native processor, how much power does it have? The P series runs 240Hz and there are no Tv's this size this quality withen $1500 of this price (Paid $1499). It will also upscale at 960Hz but, that is just an added bonus for gaming and live action. Plus it has a 64 zone LED array, makes an even more dramatic picture. If you want to spend $3000 on a Samsung or $4000 on a Sony that can compare to the 65" Vizio P Series.

This tv is Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxed it, through in big hero 6 bluray and was blown away. No adjustments and it was beautiful. This set is one that looks as good at home as it does at the store. Streaming worked great, watched 4k on netflix over wifi and was not disappointed.

Could not be more satisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could not be more satisfied with this television. This is my first Visio purchase but it will not be my last. The TV was very easy to set up and the picture was amazing right out of the box. I have not been able to try out the Ultra HD yet because my internet speed is too slow but I don't know how the picture could get any better. The smart apps load fast and add to the total experience. The sound is pretty darn good .The Best Buy team was a great help and the price was very affordable.

great picture, but missing components
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been thinking about a 4K tv recently when I traveled to Best Buy to purchase a smart phone case for my mother. I saw them while there and could not believe the difference in picture quality. However they were very pricey. The Vizio is priced Hundreds less the competition, with all the goodies. 240Hz, 4K, wifi, No 3D but I dont need that anyways. i decided on the 65" because well it is what they had in stock and the best buy salesmen made a point, you will regret the smaller one later. And I thought yes he is probably right. :) Well I got it home and opened the box. It was missing the power cord, the screws for the stand and the batteries for the remote. I was a bit ticked off that I spent that kind of money on it and I had no way to power it even up or mount it. I had a power cord to my a/v receiver that i pulled out to test the tv, it worked! I went to Home Depot to get the missing screws and had batteries on hand. I watched tv till late in the evening and the unscaled picture quality was fantastic! I also calibrated it like other forum members had mentioned. I went back to Best Buy this morning to get the missing power cord and the best buy representative informed me this has happened to quite a few people. I don't know if it was for this specific TV but in general. I got the power cord and free batteries out of the snafu. Otherwise, aside from this little inconvenience very happy with the purchase.

Great picture, easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this for two weeks, love everything about it. The picture is sharp, clear, no jitters or anything like problems that the 1 star reviews complain about. Setup was straightforward and went without a hitch. Picture is easy to adjust, although default settings are good right out of the box. CNET rates this one of the best buys, and I have to agree.

Great Value, Great Picture - Some Motion Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased an open box at a discounted price. When I took it home and set it up, it looked great but I noticed some banding on the right side of the screen. I returned it (no hassle) and then purchased a brand-new one. This new one is 100% defect free. The screen and picture quality is truly fantastic, even the 1080 shows look better than my previous Samsung HD TV. The app integration is also great but 4k content is somewhat limited right now (as expected). The only downside I will say is that even though it's listed as a 240 hz TV, it still cannot keep up with perfectly smooth action/motion scenes. Keep this in mind if you spend most of your time watching sports/action films - you WILL notice the effect. My previous TV was a plasma which does not experience this issue due to the differences between LCD and Plasma technologies. Even with the above caveat I still plan to keep the TV as it is leaps and bounds better than almost every TV on the market in this price range.

Awesome TV. The wait since January was worth it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well this is my first review. I love this set. I have a 47 inch normal vizio from like 5 years ago. It still has a great picture. I got this a week ago. Got it home, set it up, then played around with the settings for 20 minutes. I hit the amazon prime button and the tv all of sudden just went crazy. I had a black line a 1/4" from the top of the screen. I figured it was a row of dead pixels, bummer, but not a deal breaker. The left side of the screen was flashing like a strobe light. I was beginning to think I had gotten a lemon since I was an early adopter. I was wrong. I woke up the next morning to see the tv had patched itself during the night. It has been running great for a week. Movies, video games, and shows look awesome. The even better ones are the ones in 4k. I recommend this tv greatly. Vizio has always responded quickly to any of my questions. Enjoy it :)

Phenomenal TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the 65" for 1500 at black friday sale. Was delivered two days later. Hooked up to AVR which upscales to 4K. Allows for better upscaling of 1080i from cable source, so was able to use HDMI 5 (4k/60hz) without any degradation in picture. Colors required some calibrating but otherwise perfect. Blu-ray and 4K content are simply stunning. However, if you are a gamer, you should look no further. The upscaled PS4 graphics will absolutely blow you away. This is with absolutely no lag at all using HDMI 5 port. If TV drops below current price it's a no brainer. Only slight drawback is that color is a bit off with angled viewing.

Great picture, low lag, 4k PC gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for the price, this tv is great. Finally got to play 4k pc gaming via my GeForce GTX 980 thought HDMI 2.0 at 4k @60HZ. I don't even turn ON gaming mode for 1st person shooters. the upper processing make the game amazing. Supposedly this tv is also a true 1080P@120HZ, but I can't get it to work for some reason and have to overwrite in the geForce driver.

My 5yr old Samsung LCD showed better pic quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading some reviews and doing some home work I knew at the time of the purchase there might be some things that I wouldn't like. One thing I did notice as I was viewing-doing a comparrison with a Samsung, the screen it self has a glare/white haze to it. After getting it home and mounting it on the wall, played with the settings etc. As the comments I've read before mentioned, it has a glare, the depth of the colors arn't really all that impressive, fast moving objects there is a blur halo effect around the object (even in 4k it shows it). Another problem I encountered, It would not allow me to play my 4K clips from my GoPro Hero 4. Long story short, I returned it the next day and purchased another Samsung UN60HU8550FXZA.
