It's easier to charge it than to constantly have to worry about replacing the batteries. My husband has dropped the remote that came with the Roku Ultra so often that it had to be taped to stay together. This is so much better.

The remote is great, although I don't know how to pair it to the tv so the volume buttons can work. I can't figure that part out.

Yesterday out of nowhere, the TV's IR sensor no longer works, rendering my remote and many replacement remotes (of similar model number) useless. Fortunately, this remote is Wi-Fi based and doesn't use the IR sensor. This remote basically saved my TV. I was worried I'd have to get a new TV.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you've ever used the earphones (using Roku's remote) to silently listen so as to not disturb others, you know that the remote will eat through batteries at an alarming rate. This rechargeable remote is a terrific answer to that problem. It also is supposed to have a 'Voice Control' feature which has little appeal to either of us, so it has never been used.
