The fan while rotating squeaks and chirps nonstop. Either something is misaligned in the fan or the cheap plastic is just rubbing against itself. It's very noticeable and annoying to deal with. It blows cold and def makes a difference in the room if you can get over that though. The remote is useless as could be, the range on mine is inches from the the receiver on the top of the fan. So close that I might as well just control it all on the fan and throw the remote out. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend, look elsewhere.

The controls are easy and intuitive. The included remote is convenient and reliable. However, compared to other Vornado fans, the performance does leave a little to be desired. At this performance, a DC model makes a lot more sense. If they were to ever release a DC version of this fan, I'd say go for that instead.

This new fan has a modern appearance, and much better features than its predecessor. Plus, the extended manufacturer's warranty cannot be beat. Highly recommended.
