Worked as planned and functioned well for the purpose they were purchased for.

I bought the wrong thing and planned to return it. But BestBuy surprised me with a 2-wk return limit!?!

This purchase was the replace a broken baby monitor. The monitor we replaced was identical and lasted less than 2 years.

Doesn’t work. Charger doesn’t work. Altogether this was a bad purchase.

Very cheaply made considering the price. Additionally, the noise sensitivity feature is useless. Even when set to low, it still picks up the faintest of noises. Would not buy again or recommend.

Needed a intercom system for a 2 story home whereby my wife could stop banging on the wall to get my attention. I usually watch TV upstairs and set the volume pretty high so I can't always hear her call/bang for me but now I have the ultimate solution. Works like a charm both visually & audibly. With 2 parent units I'm able to put one in the computer room & the other in my TV room...totally satisfied & best of all she is too.

My Mother who is 80 years old recently had to move in with me due to her health. I needed to have something that she could call me (suffers from lung disease and is short of breath). The page feature allows her to call me and I can answer back that I am coming. With the monitor function we can have a brief two way conversation. This allows me to bring things without a second trip. Very useful item.

I replaced the same model with this new version that they added LEDs that we don't really need. The old set didn't have the lights, but the screen is backlit when you change any setting. I am pleased that we got 6 years out of it. The sensitivity level doesn't pick up breathing like another unit I previously used (I forget the name, sorry). But, I can hear every audible noise above breathing, including when they take a deep breath, and all of their cries and speech, and I listen to him talk in his sleep. It is really nice being able to talk via intercom when he wakes up at night and neither of us were not having to get out of bed (we had to press a button to talk to him while he didn't have to do anything). I keep one parent unit upstairs by our bed, while the other is used portable in the living area. I want it for listening and the two way conversation. I'll stop using them when he needs his privacy. Right now he still wants mom when he wakes up at night. I do like the easy to talk feature for when any of us are sick. The caretaker just needs to keep a parent unit nearby or within listening distance. The volume settings are sufficient. The biggest pro for me, beside the intercom feature is that it sets up well and is not easily knocked over. The only con that I can think of is if this unit was slimmer. It is a little too bulky for wearing on a belt. The handle compensates for this, for carrying it on your finger (like a big ring). So, it is easy to carry on any finger. Also, I did hang it on my back pocket (via belt clip) while I was gardening so that it would be with me while I moved around.

Just what I needed. I have a sick person that I need to know what’s going on at all times. He can talk to me and I to him. This is not just for monitoring babies but also, if needed, for adults as well.

The bedridden patient being monitored is at least 30 feet away from the two rooms where we turn on the monitors when we are not with him, and sounds are clear and the monitors work perfectly, both in hearing and responding. Exactly what we hoped for. Thanks.

Excellent product, works well and easy rather than buying an intercom which didn't work well and had to return. Any elderly or someone whose sick at home works best.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I needed a simple baby monitor to hear my baby after transitioning her from our bedroom to her own room.

We're using this baby monitor for my elderly mom who is living in her big old house with full time aides. Now, when my mom is calling for their help, they can hear her from all parts of the house. The sound pickup is ok but good enough for our purposes.

Our Baby Safety was really important to us. This monitors were a blessing and peace of mind

First of all I think that Best Buy is a great place to shop and their customer service is excellent. I can't say the same for Vtech however. I bought this DM221 monitor for $30 on 3/14/2017. From the onset I had problems with the battery going dead when the unit was totally shut off for 4 - 5 days. I made the mistake of dealing with Vtech customer service instead of Best Buy. On my first phone call to Vtech customer service, Vtech told me that the battery should not discharge when the monitor is shut off for prolonged periods of time. I use this monitor about once a week. Vtech customer service sent me a replacement battery and said that if the battery didn't fix the problem, they would send me a replacement DM221 unit. Well the battery didn't fix the issue and I called Vtech again today 5/30/2017. Today Vtech's story changed and I was told that it is NORMAL for a fully charged battery to go dead in 4-5 days with the unit totally shut off. The unit obviously has an internal current draw. I'm sure that a diode in the battery circuit would solve the issue, but that diode costs a couple of pennies. If it is NORMAL for the battery to go dead with the unit shut off, then why did they send me a replacement battery to begin with to attempt to fix a NORMAL condition? Now that the 30 day return period for Best Buy is over, I suppose that I'm stuck with this defective unit. Bottom line: If you don't mind charging the battery every few days even when the unit is totally shut off, then this DM221 is for you. As for me, I'm buying another brand monitor from Best Buy.
