I bought this phone because I needed a desk phone to call into meetings & wanted a corded phone so I didn't have to worry about battery life during meetings. The first problem is answering the desk phone. You can't simply pick up the phone off the receiver, you have to pick up the phone first, then pick up the base and drop it on the desk - otherwise it'll just keep ringing like you never picked up the phone. There's also a considerable lag time between when the phone sounds like it's connected to the call to when it actually IS - you end up saying "hello?" several times before getting an answer back. The same lag time kicks in when you're on a call and another call is coming in. Normally, you'd expect to hear a "beep" - instead it's some strange electronic noise and it sounds like your call was disconnected but you just have to wait several seconds and then you can continue your conversation. The speaker phone is static-y and has a tendency to drop calls.
The handset works fine - except for the incoming call problem and the battery life is short.
