With this phone, you can hardly tell if there's any light on at all. I have poor vision and basically can't read anything on it. If I use a large magnifier, I can make out some of the info. The level of light this phone provides is roughly equivalent to that of the back-light on a cheap digital watch.

What I got was a cordless phone, a speakerphone, AND an answering machine, all under $18. I had no idea of the other features 'til I got it. My only gripe is the weak instructions that come with it. I don't have an additional handset yet, but I'll probably get it next week.
