I was looking at high end phones with all kinds of features. I came to realize this phone has the features I need and nothing more. Easy set up and a wonderful phone. I was outside an was walking all over the yard which is big an never lost the call. It's a nice looking phone also.

We purchased this phone/answerer combination as a replacement for an older version by the same manufacturer. The phone is easy to program and sounds very good. Since its primary user is older, the phone's similarity to its predecessor makes it easy for her to use. the VTech's robust volume works very well for someone with reduced hearing capacity. I do wish the characters on the display were a little larger, but with reading glasses it's okay. There are fancier phones out there, of course, but for a cost-effective, reliable phone and answerer, the VTech CS6729 represents an excellent value.

This is a no bells-and-whistles phone. If you just want a regular house phone with an answering machine and no cord, this is the way to go! Cheap, easy to use, install, and set up. There are no downsides. I have this mounted on the wall as opposed to sitting on counter. Works fine, though does not look as good as sitting on counter. Definitely worth it for such a cheap price!
