I had been searching for a hybrid unit that would allow monitoring by a dedicated screen, that we could leave in our bedroom, and also by smartphone. A lot of the other units had bad reviews and connectivity issues, so I was a little hesitant about this one. However, it did not disappoint. It was pretty easy to set up. Video quality is really good. Connectivity to the monitor and phone is reliable (unless it is trying to update the firmware). It is pretty customizable. It is hardly noticeable in the baby's room, even when in night mode. The only think that would be nice is a tilt and rotate feature on the camera.

Great monitor and does everything it is suppose to do!! Needing a monitor without breaking the bank, my wife and I chose this VTech monitor after doing research on other models from VTech and other brands. The camera is clear for our needs and so far, having this monitor for a couple weeks now, it has been great and continues to do well!! Setup was easy as the instructions guide you to the very end to get it up and running, The main monitor is clear to view and good size!! We love that it has the ability to sync up to your smartphone so that if you are away from the house you can check in from time to time. About the only minor flaw I see, is that when you want to talk on the two-way control, I find it a slight inconvenience, to have to hold down the "talk" button on the main monitor to talk through the camera's mic. It would be nice if VTech would make it as you only have to "press" the "talk" button and it will engage the mic instead of having to hold it down. OR have it where you Press the button and when sounds from the room you have the camera in is transmitting sound to the monitor you don't have to do anything else just talk and talk back and forth like an intercom!! To me this is a minor issue and doesn't take away from the overall effectiveness of this monitor!! If you are looking for such a monitor in a sea of other brands, THIS monitor hits the spot in terms of function and overall price!!

Forget that this is a baby monitor, think of it as a wi-fi camera. As a wifi-camera, this is one of the poorest functioning, lowest quality, most frustrating to operate-devices I have ever used. Whether you own a TON of electronics devices and are a self-proclaimed "techy" like me, or you don't gaf about technology and just want a working baby monitor, this product should be avoided at all costs. Please heed my warning. The theme of the awful quality of this product is the connection, which is probably its most critical feature. Shockingly, the connection between the console and camera disconnect rapidly - as in multiple times per minute. It was beyond frustrating reconnecting the two manually, or waiting for them to reconnect automatically. Also, when the pair disconnects, the console beeps loudly and annoyingly. The console was separated from the camera by about 15 feet, and 1 wall, literally next to our router producing 45 mb/s (we're capped at 45 mb/s where we live), which is more than sufficient streaming 4K to our Apple TV devices and to our phones/macbooks/imac/vivint home security, etc. We returned this garbage product immediately and will never purchase a VTech product in the future because nowadays there are too many high-quality competitors out there, particularly in the wifi camera category. We bought a competing baby monitor that I won't name, but it is 720p (oddly looking 10x clearer than the '1080p' competing cameras) with perfect picture quality and a consistent connection... Fine I'll tell you but don't think this is a planted review - it's a "SUMMER Infant" brand. Just don't buy this POS vtech.

We upgraded our baby monitor from a cheaper camera, and this is a great upgrade. This is our 3rd different video monitor and it is definitely he best we have had. The picture quality is excellent! You can zoom and move the camera to see things better, and if has sound features built in to soothe the child if needed. The one downside we have noticed so far is the delay when using the talk feature. We have to hold down the talk button for a few seconds before starting to talk. Also, sometimes it's very loud in the baby's room and sometimes you can't hear what we say. Very happy with the camera and monitor overall. Would recommend and buy again.

The night vision is amazing. The motion monitoring is amazing. I can hear things very very clearly. The microphone works really good. I tell my son to stop doing things and he can hear me clearly. I love the fact it has an mobile app. My husband is able to look from work or when I’m out in able to look in. It’s amazing. Not hard to set up either. You can also add more cameras.

had this thing working ALL DAY and suddenly I got the constant disconnect problems the 1 star reviews talked about. In anger I rebooted it multiple times, reconnected it multiple times, I even yelled at it to no avail when I noticed something. The power cable on the camera itself had came out JUST SLIGHTLY. I also remembered in the instructions they specifically had a part showing a pic of an incorrect plug vs. a correct plug, the only difference being that it's pushed in all the way in the correct one. On a hunch I checked my plug, and sure enough it had disconnected (probably from moving it angle wise a few times throughout the day) just enough to be loose, yet still provide power to the unit to some degree. Once clicked back in all the way it stopped flashing the LINK light at me every 3 seconds and was functioning again. Unbelievable, right?

Picture quality is perfect. Both in night vision and standard. Wide view or standard options. So many features. Also doubles as a sound machine which I did not know about. It is a great feature. Motion Sensors, thermometer. This product is wonderful. App is easy to connect to and works great. Simple and perfect

I use this camera everyday. It is overall good. Sometimes I have a lag in the internet and connection to the camera. If we use it somewhere new you have to pair the camera and screen again and it takes a bit, while also being a bit noisy (not the most convenient while baby is asleep). I like the zoom feature and that you can adjust the camera view through the portable screen. A very generous size screen. The view is also good when using the app on the phone. I would buy this camera again.

I researched all the current baby monitors available and decided on this one. I am not disappointed! So many features and so simple to use. Camera resolution is amazing, simple set up, even has a phone app, and the night vision is excellent.

The camera were very easy to setup and operate. The view is very clear to see. This was a good purchase for what I was looking for.

Good price, but the battery life is AWFUL, ours lasts maybe a couple of hours off the charger before it has to be plugged back in. Every now and then i have to repair the camera cause it fails to connect. Little issues that I would expect for the price of purchase, overall content with the price point and product. If I paid $400 for this product though I’d be very disappointed.

Bought the WIFI variant, so that we can also view what the camera sees through our phones. Setup’s easy to follow through, but only on the 2.4GHz WIFI, not allowed for 5GHz. Camera and Main Unit comes with their own power units, but you can carry the Main Unit around wirelessly. Room temperature is also monitored, along with motion sensitivity (all can be turned on or off). Limited zoom and view options, and screen is not a touchscreen, so this might not suit the really tech savvy. VTech app seems to be outdated compared to other apps. Audio transfer to and from camera are delayed by at least 2secs (yes, you can use them as walkie-talkies). Battery’s not up to par with current tech’s standards, it barely lasts the night without plugging the unit. Overall, somewhat an okay buy. Security-wise, besides that they have an app, you don’t need to setup an account to use the WIFI feature it needs (ex. Nest requires an account and payment for the service for full features, correct me if I’m wrong). There are other ways to implement baby monitoring with video, like smart home cameras to connect your phones to (or a Nest Hub as Base Unit), but this is an okay choice for a dedicated baby monitor. I’d still recommend it to a friend, but would also present them other options to consider. Still using this, so it’s not really a loss, but a good help.

Great resolution, the built in sounds are great! long range means I can take it to the back yard or any room with the Mobil screen no problems really easy to set up and use, the app works great as well.

Not bad for the price. There are definitely better options but they are way more expensive. The picture quality is mediocre and the monitor needs to be either plugged in all the time or can be used wirelessly but the battery drains quickly. The camera range is pretty good. On separate floors in a large house it still connects to the monitor.

Very good value for this item. Didn't expect the video at night to be so clear. Able to use the app to see video remotely while out and about. Used it to confirm that there was no one in the room when our security system went off. It gave us addition view that the security cameras did not. The two way talk could be better but still pretty good for this price range. If using for a baby only, then it is not that big of a deal.

If you’re looking to purchase a good affordable baby monitor, this is the one! We love ours. You can play baby lullabies with it, and has other great settings for it. Very easy to install as well. The app makes is so convenient to monitor your baby from anywhere

This monitor has worked great for us. Has night vision, intercom, and ability to view baby from cell phone even if you are not home.(as in nanny cam) battery lasts fairly long picture is clear.
