The best of the new Planet of the Apes films has the best steelbook art, but the drawbacks are that the 3D disc is not included, and the spine does not match the other 2 best buy steelbooks. Great film, best enjoyed in 3D though.

A well realized final chapter in the Apes saga. Great 3D conversion. If you have seen Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in 3D. & were turned off by the process...that film actually was filmed in native 3D..however the 3D aspect fell victim to a poorly realized compromise that had more to do with a ridicuous requirement for shallow stereo imaging by the now defunct SKY-TV 3D network & a 3D technology company that jumped in bed with them.(perhaps for a quick profit) & then attempted to enforce it. That methodology almost destroyed the 3D market (look at Stalingrad & an insipid absolutely un-necessary reconversion of the 3D 50's classic Creature from the Black Lagoon among other examples) Hopefully future 3D projects won't suffer the same fate & resulting artistic & visual damage. A number of 3D conversions in the past year, for the most part, look good & many of these 3D converted features were not only created with 3D in mind but also use advanced technology to make it all work better starting with principal photography leading to the conversion process. And native 3D..in the right hands...and utilizing the talented 3D professionals to do just that ..are readily available to filmakers who want to get it right from the get go...hopefully with 3D blu ray releases to follow from whatever region that still offers them in 2018 & beyond.

It is a definite must have for the collection but it lost some interest, especially from the first installment.

The Caesar trilogy ends with a bang (literally) in this final installment of the new Apes films. Even more than the excellent Dawn, lots of suspense is generated because you care about the characters, even if most of them are not human. Lots of interesting developments, and is heading in the same direction as the original Charlton Hestorn film, with an explanation of why humans cannot speak. The 3-D is well-used, providing an excellent sense of depth in the quieter scenes, and spectacle on a scale unimaginable in 2-D during the large set pieces. It is the format the film should be viewed in. A must have.

As much as it pains the young version of me to admit this, this new series of Planet of the Apes movies is better than the original (and much better than the first attempt to remake the series.) And this movie is the best of the new series. No, it’s not Shakespeare, but it’s much more than popcorn fare. And perhaps if Shakespeare had the ability to put armies of apes on stage, one of his lesser contemporaries would have written something very much like this.

A solid ending to a great trilogy. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is still my favorite of the 3 films, but this one was still very good.

Great graphics, fast paced story and tons of action. This is a must own if you already have the others. This one is absolutely awesome!

One of the best of 2017 in my opinion and probably the best in the series.
