Best Buy sent their contractors out to install my pedestal washer. They got it done in a reasonable amount of time. I would use professional installation again.

I ordered the new washing machine (LG 45 Cu Ft. 9 Cycle Front Loading Washer, SKU #5544000) on 1/19/17 with delivery on Monday 1/23/17 between 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The delivery team called 20 minutes before their arrival and arrived within the time frame. We previously had a metal drain pan under our old washer and the delivery team was unable to install the new washer because the size of our existing pan would not fit the new washer properly and they did not want to damage the new washer. The gentlemen were very nice and principled and I appreciated their honesty. They left the new washing machine in our garage and hauled away our old machine. That afternoon I purchased and installed an appropriately sized drain pan and then rescheduled the installation of the new washer for Thursday 1/26/17 between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The team called on that day about 30 minutes prior to arrival and then arrived shortly before 4:00 p.m. They quickly installed the new washing machine, turned it on and instructed me to let the cycle run through before using it. I signed the paperwork and they left immediately. About 5-10 minutes later, I noticed that the drain pan under the washer was completely full of water and beginning to overflow onto our hardwood floors. I shut off the washer but the water was still coming out of the bottom of the washer. I grabbed a bunch of towels and soaked up the water as quickly as I could but unfortunately the water did spill over the pan and ran underneath the pan and also our dryer. The drain pan pipe did route the water outside but the water was flowing more quickly than it could handle. I immediately called the Best Buy dispatch number 888-237-8289 and the scheduler said the delivery team was done for the day and she was not able to get someone out to replace the unit until Monday 1/30/17. I informed her that there was water that seeped under the drain pan that would be sitting there damaging my bamboo flooring from Thursday afternoon until Monday afternoon and she gave me the phone number to the claims department (800-620-7409). She did nothing to try to expedite or accommodate the situation which was very frustrating. Over the weekend, I tested the machine and was able to locate the source of the leak which was from the washer filter located on the bottom left corner in the front of the machine. The filter was not properly tightened which was causing the issue of the excessive leak. I am not sure if this was a manufacturer issue or something that happened during the delivery. It was very difficult to tighten the plastic filter so I felt it was best to continue on and have the machine replaced on Monday 1/30/17. My appointment was set for 1/30/17 between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The delivery team arrived unannounced at a little after 2:00 p.m. – unlike the previous two delivery teams. They proceeded to remove the leaking washer and likely detached the drain pan from the wall while removing the washer. The delivery team then asked me if I wanted to wipe up the water left in the drain pan after the leak occurred which I did and then I lifted up the pan to see the water damage to my flooring underneath (and took photos). The delivery team also took photos of the damaged floor. They then installed the new washing machine, started running a cycle and it all appeared to be operating properly without leaking. I then signed the paperwork and the team member asked if I would complete the survey which would be e-mailed to me to give him a good rating on his service. The team members then went out to their truck. In the meantime, I was just double checking and making sure there were no leaks and noticed that the drain pan was not properly installed – not even close. They made no attempt to reconnect the drain pan to the piping that leads the water out. I ran out to the truck (thank goodness they had not yet left) and I informed them that the drain pan was not reconnected. The delivery team said that the pan was “like that” and was “not installed” when they arrived which was completely false. If that had been the case, my entire downstairs would have flooded during the initial flood. After arguing with me, I asked them if they could just move the washer out of the pan so that I could re-connect the drain pan myself which they did. After the first delivery team addressed the importance of a properly functioning drain pan and would not install our new washer as a result, I could not believe that this delivery team would have total disregard for the drain pan as they did. Furthermore, the team did not level the machine properly which was causing the machine to aggressively shake when in use. I decided to repair myself by extending the length of one of the legs due to my lack of confidence in the service members Best Buy would provide. I am extremely frustrated with this entire experience. We are frequent Best Buy shoppers and have never had such difficulty. I am also frustrated that I took three days off of work to be here for these delivery teams not to mention the extra expense I am sure Best Buy is incurring for sending out multiple teams on multiple days for a washer that I paid $599 for. At this point, I am not sure if I even want to file a claim for our damaged flooring as I am afraid of who Best Buy is going to contract to complete the work. It could be more of a headache than it is worth. Definitely a lose-lose situation. I am sure Best Buy thinks that outsourcing the delivery and installation of their products is cost-effective but the poor service and dissatisfied customers will become very costly in the end.

The delivery and set up of our washer and dryer went very smooth. The two members of the installation team were very professional and knowledgeable, answering all our questions about our new products.

These guys were great! Called about 15 to 20 minutes out and thankfully worked with me as I needed to switch up the unit it was being delivered to.

It was great service, did notice that the top was dented in. Service was quick to set up and made an adjustment to change the doors.

The installers were right on time, worked very efficiently, explained the operation of the machine clearly and were very polite and respectful. Also did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.
