    This filter is for an LG side by side French door stainless fridge with water and ice in the door. We have a whole house softener and are on city water. I am not sure why it needs to be replaced for nearly $50.00

    I bought this even thought I have municipal water. Now that I see the price I feel it was unnecessary. I will not be replacing the filter again. I eccourage the manufacturer to find more reasonable alternatives.

    After researching about going with the manufacturer filter or other "generic" or alternative filters we decided to stick with manufacturer one. It was easy to install & with price match the price was great!
