    The LG filter does an OK job... no worse but no better than other brands. Even with the filter we end up with the white residue from the mineral deposits on the front of our refrigerator. Works well but a little pricey.

    it does work great. I went to long between changing it out and my ice smelled funny. It did not taste bad, but hands smelled funny when picking up the ice.

    Bought an LG refrigerator at Best Buy and looked all over for the filter when it came time to replace. It was easy, and they had it in stock at store. I checked on other replacement types, but did not want to spend that much to buy 3 to 5 to get a discount. It appears to be a good filtration system for my water, and having a higher quality filter has helped save money when the kids ask for "bottled water." We have a high quality filter, "drink that water" is my response now.
