I have tried generic filters that cost less, but they do not last as long and the quality is not always there, and I don't want to worry about a counterfeit product when buying elsewhere for a price that is too good to be true...

There are many sizes. I had a clerk who usually didn’t work in this area. He listened well and found the past transaction in a very short time. A happy customer walked out of the store.

Tried off brand generic filters that state they fit our model and cost less but have found none that fit. Samsung filter replacement is based on time rather than usage, so Samsung is playing the customer here in order to keep selling these filters. Doubt you really need to replace the filter every 6 months. Had GE refrigerator previously and their filters lasted one year
