I purchased the Samsung brand to make sure the first replacement was with the company who built the fridge. Are 'generic' filters good, yes... but I wanted to first use the company name brand.

It was on the shelf, so I didn't need anyone to help me find it. I couldn't shut off the water because the fridge is off its rollers to keep the freezer drawer closed. After pushing hard on the filter I was able to lock the filter in place.

I can find them cheaper on Amazon but there's no guarantee that they're official filters. The fake ones can cause damage to the fridge so I'd rather pay a bit more for original filters.

With 4 kids in and out of a fridge all day, every day, a water filter needs to be changed a little more often than not. When we first bought fridge about 2 years ago, filters were $45. Now they are $53. Although I LOVE my refrigerator, Families on tight budgets need to think twice before making such a huge investment.

The refrigerator's water filter light will let you know when those six months are up and should be reset after changing the filter. We understand that our product is a little expensive, however, you won't regret the quality of water that will be produced.
