We needed pliers to remove the filter, and making the exact connection while pushing in the filter wasn't the easiest. Once installed, I do not have any complaints.

Make certain that you tighten the filter

For this reason we still buy bottled water. You really have only a generic version (made with coconut shells is what we were told) or the one designed for this refrigerator.
