After checking manual, decided I didn't have to turn water off. Unlocked and removed old filter and replaced with new filter. Reset warning light and now have filtered water.

Tried generic brand and it only caused issues with the fridge such as excess noise, etc. Better in my opinion to stick with this original manufacturer version.
