We frequently noticed a gritty white substance on the bottom of our glasses so we don't use that feature on the frig often and maybe that is due to not flushing the system well. At any rate, my dad continues to change the filter whenever the indicator light tells us the filter needs to be changed.

Better than buying in store

Thankfully the online recommendation was for the frig we had purchased earlier. I received the filter in two days.

Hole for water is smaller?

About the water filter in your Samsung Refrigerator.
Replacing the water filter in your fridge helps keep your water tasting fresh and helps to prevent odors. Your Family Hub panel will notify you when it’s time to change it, which is about every 6 months. First make sure you purchase a genuine Samsung filter made specifically for your fridge model. You can find replacements on Samsung.com. When you’re ready to replace it, turn off the water line to the fridge, drain the waterline by running the dispenser, and then turn the old filter counterclockwise to pull it out. After you insert the new filter, turn it clockwise to lock it in place, and then turn your water valve back on. All that’s left is to run the water for a few minutes to flush it and reset the replace filter alert on your fridge.

Hard to Install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The filter works well, but VERY difficult to replace unless you turn the whole water supply off to the house, or pull out a very large and heavy frig which is not an option for a small woman. Pulling the appliance out and pushing back in can damage flooring. Samsung engineering design problem. I recommend the filter, but installation is horrible. Recommend the filter because you have to have one, and it does work once you get it changed.

Works fine but could be easier to change
