Not only is that a bit excessive, it is a pain to install! First you have to locate the old one way down in the lower right hand corner of the fridge. Then get down on your hands and knees and hope you have enough strength to push and twist it in to place. To be safe, wait until you have its best to wait for a handy gal or man to help you. Otherwise, you'll have water all over your floor like I did. LG is my first choice in appliances from this point forward.

High priced for the value received

Water from a refrigerator is not our main source of water, although it is handy for a occasional glass of water. It is slow to fill for what our coffee maker needs and usually does not get used for that reason. It is supposed to filter about 300 gallons, but I really doubt it handles that much before needing replacement. I do not have a way to measure how much water it actually filters over its short lifetime, but I'm sure it would be cheaper to just buy bottled water.
