    ive been using it for about 3 years now and haven't had any problems with it yet. I wish it had a longer life on it I think it lasts for about 3 months. The only thing I dread doing is flitering out 3 gallons of water before we can actually use it. other then that its great.

    The Filter in question is NOT the same as the OEM filter that comes standard in the Samsung refrigerators! The OEM version has a pilot hole of approximately 1/8" in diameter. In the "replacement" (well, not really), the same hole is less than 1/16" in diameter. The interior configuration where the filter is 'supposed' to mate correctly with the refrigerator is different. That being said, the replacement filter damaged the refrigerator housing, which had to be replaced by a Service Tech from Samsung. Had my refrigerator not still been under warranty, this "simple" filter change would have cost me over $400.00 for the part and service fee. Samsung Parts Line told me I should be buying filters directly from them, as the ones being sold at Retail outlets weren't the same. (NOTE TO BEST BUY: You MIGHT want to check your supply chain to visually check the deformities mentioned here...) I can't wait until my next filter change...

      I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It's worth noting that there are occasional changes in the design of official Samsung filters, which are available at Best Buy in addition to through Samsung. However, it is important to purchase only official replacement cartridges, as you've noted.

    Unfortunately this is the only option for a filter that I know of. It works well enough, but it would be nice to have other options

    The filter is expensive and deoes not last long if you constantly use the water dispenser in the refrigerator.. It is expensive at around $52 w tax

      About the water filter in your Samsung Refrigerator.

      when it’s time to change it, which is about every 6 months. First make sure you purchase a genuine Samsung filter made specifically for your fridge model. You can find replacements on Samsung.com. When you’re ready to replace it, turn off the water line to the fridge, drain the waterline by running the dispenser, and then turn the old filter counterclockwise to pull it out. After you insert the new filter, turn it clockwise to lock it in place, and then turn your water valve back on. All that’s left is to run the water for a few minutes to flush it and reset the replace filter alert on your fridge.

    Good filter for my Samsung refrigerator. However, doesn't seem to last very long before needing replacement. Even with little usage of the water dispenser.

    I bought this filter about a Month ago and already it is saying that o need to replace the filter. That has never happened before, and these filters are not cheap. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

    After reviewing multiple off-brand filters and seeing so many issues with other brands, I chose to stick with the Samsung filters. I have not had any issues with this type of filter the last 5 years we have had a Samsung fridge.

    Works okay. Refrigerator tell you when to change it which is often. Need to turn off the house water and use a wrench to undo the filter. Understand reducing the water pressure by turning off the water but shouldn't need a wrench to get the filter out.
