Bad water filter.. Samsung brand.

I am forced to buy these expensive ones because the cheap ones could potentially damage my refrigerator which was upwards of $2000. Samsung are just overcharging because they know they can get away with it.

We place a lot of investment in research and development to ensure that the devices for sanitation in your refrigerator are of excellent quality; hence, they are NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certified.
The water filter light on your fridge operates on a timer and will turn on after 6 months. For models where the indicator is always lit, it will turn red after 6 months.

About the water filter in your Samsung Refrigerator.
Replacing the water filter in your fridge helps keep your water tasting fresh and helps to prevent odors. Your Family Hub panel will notify you when it’s time to change it, which is about every 6 months. First make sure you purchase a genuine Samsung filter made specifically for your fridge model. You can find replacements on Samsung.com. When you’re ready to replace it, turn off the water line to the fridge, drain the waterline by running the dispenser, and then turn the old filter counterclockwise to pull it out. After you insert the new filter, turn it clockwise to lock it in place, and then turn your water valve back on. All that’s left is to run the water for a few minutes to flush it and reset the replace filter alert on your fridge.

Also water coming out of the filter tasted really bad. I had to visit BestBuy store and explain the issue and after several minutes of discussion they decided to give me another one from store which was orginal and tasted just fine. I do not receommend to buy online
