Your fridge is on a six month reminder for your water filter to let you know that it is suggested to change the water filter. It is optional but if you would like to keep it then we suggest to replace around six months and based on use. Thank you for choosing Samsung. ^Brad

I have purchased these filters for past couple of years with no problems from Best Buy I figured first one just bad. Factory defect or something. Starts out fine. Do the 2-3 minute water cycle. 3-4 days later, no water flow. Not to ice maker or water dispenser. Due to item opened not returnable. Pull filter out water flows fine. I’ll have to find a new resource for these filters looks like

water filter problem

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very disappointed with the water filter .I still do not have ice or water despite the replaced ice maker unit by a certified Samsung repair person earlier in the year. When I replaced the filter I expected both water and ice but I got a pathetic gurgle and a small bit of ice which was a struggle for sure! And I am expected to replace this filter every month! What an utter waste of money for a filter and ice making unit which does not work satisfactorily.

I think it was a little cheaper somewhere else but just wanted it quick and Best Buy offered me free shipping since I’m an elite member.
