Recommendation is to replace every 6 months (when the timed light comes on) but you can go longer unless the water stream slows down. If so, it is filled with gunk so go ahead and replace it.

This was my first filter re-lacement which I did after having refrigerator 4 months thought it would last 6 months but the water taste great with the filter.

I will continue buying after 1st year as best buy provided one filter for free with Refrigerator purchase. My preference is buying this at an authorized dealer in store like Best Buy. I do not prefer buying anywhere online.

Great replacement filter

I was pointed in the right direction and told it was super easy to do. It literally was plug and play. Couldn't ask for an easier task with maintaining my fridge/freezer. 2 times a year or once ever 6 months.

Nothing like the OEM

Well, I suppose you could argue that it costs twice as much as the copies. Since we only have to change this twice a year, it's been worth the extra $30/year for a quality item that I know will not leak and will filter out what it says....

When you install be careful with the 1st few seconds of use since sometimes water will shoot out odd but I think it might be just my Samsung refrigerator.
