I have tried generic filters that cost less, but they do not last as long and the quality is not always there, and I don't want to worry about a counterfeit product when buying elsewhere for a price that is too good to be true...

The Samsung filters are grossly overpriced. Buy the generic version for half the price (when in stock).

Tried off brand generic filters that state they fit our model and cost less but have found none that fit. Samsung filter replacement is based on time rather than usage, so Samsung is playing the customer here in order to keep selling these filters. Doubt you really need to replace the filter every 6 months. Had GE refrigerator previously and their filters lasted one year
