The refrigerator's water filter light will let you know when those six months are up and should be reset after changing the filter. This light is on a timed schedule to remind you every since months that you need to change your filter. You can reset the light by pressing the water filter reset button for three seconds on your control panel. Change it when you need it. you can use the light as a reminder to order the filter.
