I understand your concern with the life span of your water filter. The life span of the water filter is based on your use. Our Samsung Refrigerators have a reminder every six months so that you do not forget. If you use the water dispenser constantly then you could need to change it sooner. For a family of four water drinkers, the refill lasts longer than the stated six months.
