I don't know what they propose but that seems a little short on time. Perhaps it was because it was the first replacement. I'll see how long it takes for the second replacement.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered and bought a new fridge (Samsung - 27 cu. ft. 3-Door French Door Counter Depth Smart Refrigerator with Dual Auto Ice Maker - Stainless Steel) . Since this was a new fridge when receiving the filter I didn't question it because I assumed id be given the correct filter for when it came time to switch at the 6 month mark or when the fridge notified me. and once the fridge notified me 6 months later, I tried putting the filter i noticed it was the wrong size filter. Unfortunately now im stuck with a filter that doesn't fit and have to purchase a new once since its been pass 6 months.

Wish it would last longer

It just seems to me that Samsung can come up with something more cost effective.

About the water filter in your Samsung Refrigerator.
Replacing the water filter in your fridge helps keep your water tasting fresh and helps to prevent odors. Your Family Hub panel will notify you when it’s time to change it, which is about every 6 months. First make sure you purchase a genuine Samsung filter made specifically for your fridge model. You can find replacements on Samsung.com. When you’re ready to replace it, turn off the water line to the fridge, drain the waterline by running the dispenser, and then turn the old filter counterclockwise to pull it out. After you insert the new filter, turn it clockwise to lock it in place, and then turn your water valve back on. All that’s left is to run the water for a few minutes to flush it and reset the replace filter alert on your fridge.

So I picked up one at BB so I could return it if it didn't work correctly. This filter worked perfectly and lets the water flow thru very quickly.
