Not only is that a bit excessive, it is a pain to install! First you have to locate the old one way down in the lower right hand corner of the fridge. Then get down on your hands and knees and hope you have enough strength to push and twist it in to place. To be safe, wait until you have its best to wait for a handy gal or man to help you. Otherwise, you'll have water all over your floor like I did. LG is my first choice in appliances from this point forward.

High priced for the value received
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.At $50 per replacement filter, it gets expensive over time as it usually has to be replaced every six months. Water from a refrigerator is not our main source of water, although it is handy for a occasional glass of water. It is slow to fill for what our coffee maker needs and usually does not get used for that reason. It is supposed to filter about 300 gallons, but I really doubt it handles that much before needing replacement. I do not have a way to measure how much water it actually filters over its short lifetime, but I'm sure it would be cheaper to just buy bottled water.

Tried to return this item because I accidentally ordered the wrong filter. When my son went to install it he realized it was the wrong filter. Was not used & put it back in the package it came in, sent it back and then you sent it back to me. $50 some down the drain & can't do anything with the filter. RIP OFF!!!

About the water filter in your Samsung Refrigerator.
Replacing the water filter in your fridge helps keep your water tasting fresh and helps to prevent odors. Your Family Hub panel will notify you when it’s time to change it, which is about every 6 months. First make sure you purchase a genuine Samsung filter made specifically for your fridge model. You can find replacements on Samsung.com. When you’re ready to replace it, turn off the water line to the fridge, drain the waterline by running the dispenser, and then turn the old filter counterclockwise to pull it out. After you insert the new filter, turn it clockwise to lock it in place, and then turn your water valve back on. All that’s left is to run the water for a few minutes to flush it and reset the replace filter alert on your fridge.
