Evidently there are knock off brand water filters on the market. These are the genuine article. Samsung has even provided a way to scan this filter to check its authenticity.

I’ll still go to the store most of the time because the staff are soooo helpful, but this is a good alternative.

Was able to easily find this on bestbuy online and I was able to pay for it with reward $. Delivered the next day and problem solved
