The Samsung water dispensing equipment ( software) actually reduces the flow of water, making people think they need a new filter due to plugging. If you just hit the filter reset buttons you will find you can actually get 3-4Xs the use out of this 50 dollar filter ( at least that has been my experience and I am a hydraulics expert). There is not a filter by-pass system in this . Great filter though. Stay with the OEM but just try this little hack.

I have purchased the off brand once and was satisfied with it however when Best Buy puts the OEM product on sale it pretty much is the same price. So watch for the sale as it doesnt happen too often and buy for your next time replacement

Lasts exactly 6 months. Our automatic order came 6 months to the day and that's when the replacement light went on inside the refrigerator. Easy to install. Price is a little high.

The filter arrived when expected; the old filter was removed; and the new one inserted. Really - it's as easy as that! I've struggled in the past with filters that were VERY difficult to change. Just make sure you run several gallons of water through to remove filter impurities & air in the line. Good for another six months.

I purchased a Samsung replacement water filter for my refrigerator after one year service last year. I just got an indicator that it is time to do this again and probably will go with another Samsung filter since I had no problems and it lasted as advertised for one year,even though there are cheaper ones available.

I was using an "off brand" cheaper filter for awhile and I started to get leaking issues. I switched back to this name brand version and haven't had any issues since. You can definitely find a cheaper version, but from my experience, this is still the better choice so you don't have to deal with any leaking issues.

The first 3 cups of water had a funky plastic smell. We didn't drink it obviously. But after that, the water is crisp, clean and no flavor nor smells, just like the water from my Brita filter. I'm happy with it. It's supposed to last approximately 6 months.

I read reviews & instructions. Initially was a little apprehensive if this would be difficult and/or messy. I did not need to pull out refrigerator or turn off the water. I unscrewed the old & put in the new filter and put on the provided reminder sticker. I hit the reset on the outside of fridg and was done.

Been using these filters for years and have always been happy with the water and ice from my refrigerator.

This is second time getting this item. My reasoning is why spend thousands on getting nice appliance and go cheap and get generic brands replacement... to save what, 10-20 over a year? Not worth it. This way, for sure to fit and function as intended by the manufacturer. And sure enough, no issues whatsoever so far and tastes great.

Filter works well. Water tastes great. It's too bad it lasts only 5 or 6 months.

Replacing the water filter with this Samsung water filter seemed pretty straight forward, so I didn't read the directions. The water that came out tasted fishy. I looked at the directions and it said to let the water dispenser run off 3 gallons worth of filtered water to clear the system. 3 gallons took more than the 6 minutes that was stated on the directions. For me it took about 10 minutes. But once I drew out 3 gallons of filtered water, the water tasted nice and crisp. Very happy with the purchase, especially through the subscriptions and saved about $15 per filter.

I’ve been using these filters for years. OEM filters for Samsung fridge. Easy to install and water is clean and taste better than bottled water and Lasts 6 months I’m happy with my purchase, I will continue to use this OEM filter.

After contacting Samsung directly because I was experiencing problems with my refrigerator, the support staff suggested I purchase a new water filter to see if that may be the problem with my refrigerator. Being a new unit I did not think so but it was. After installing it, the odor is gone and that seems to have cured the problem. Thanks!!

Had purchased a new Samsung refrigerator this summer, and the filter change light had just recently come on. I did some on-line research and found prices for a name-brand water filter fairly competitive with Best Buy's prices - plus I had the convenience of getting it immediately rather than wait for mail delivery. Was easy to install and works great!

The water filter's location in my new Samsung refrigerator is at the front near the vegetable bins making it very accessible. The replacement water filter was very easy to install with simple instructions. And, I did not have to turn the water off... it only took a couple of minutes!

Works well, installs easy, never had a problem. Set up auto delivery for every 6 months so by the time it needs replacing, I have one available.

Great product. Very easy to install. Takes a bit of time to flush out the filter to prime it but the results are worth the wait.

Purchased a Samsung fridge 6 months ago and finally got the notification to change filter. Although it is a little pricey, it is very easy to install, lasts about 6 months, and really does make the water taste better. I can tell a big difference when drinking normal tap water compared to the Samsung filtered water.
